The Steelers head to Tampa Bay on Sunday looking for a second straight win, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. ET. The Week 6 matchup will air on CBS and can also be streamed on-demand.
Pittsburgh enters at 3-2 after last week’s 34-22 win over the Indianapolis Colts, a game that gave the Steelers their season-high point total and kept them within one game of the AFC North-leading Baltimore Ravens. Aaron Rodgers was sharp in the victory, going 22 of 31 for 235 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. Jaylen Warren did plenty of damage too, piling up 188 total yards and two touchdowns, one on the ground and one through the air.
The Steelers also made life difficult on Indianapolis defensively. They held Jonathan Taylor and the Colts’ run game to 66 rushing yards, or 2.8 yards per carry, limited the Colts to 5.9 yards per pass attempt and allowed just one touchdown on three red-zone trips.
Tampa Bay comes in off its first win of the season, a 24-16 Thursday Night Football victory over the Dallas Cowboys. The Buccaneers took advantage of three Dallas turnovers, including a costly interception at the Tampa Bay 12-yard line on a late drive that could have tied the game. Rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels completed 19 of 25 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown, while Bucky Irving added 165 total yards and two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving.
That balanced production was a big reason Tampa Bay finished with 419 total yards and 24 first downs, and it figures to be a major part of the Buccaneers’ approach against Pittsburgh.

Aaron Rodgers Is Giving Steelers Fans A Real MVP Debate
Aaron Rodgers has given Steelers fans plenty to watch already, and now he has dragged himself into a familiar kind of conversation. The veteran quarterback, who has won the NFL MVP award four times and last took home the honor in 2021, is drawing fresh attention after a stretch that has reminded some observers of his best form. For a Pittsburgh team still measuring what Rodgers can mean in the bigger picture, any whisper of MVP talk is bound to travel fast.
Former defensive lineman Osi Umenyiora was among those willing to say the quiet part out loud, comparing Rodgers' current run to the kind of season that once carried him to the league's top individual prize. It is still just a prediction, of course, and plenty can change over a long season, but it speaks to how quickly Rodgers has shifted the conversation around the Steelers. When a quarterback with his rsum starts stacking up performances like this, the debate becomes less about nostalgia and more about whether he can keep it going long enough to make the idea real. Steelers Get Needed Backfield Help Before A Bigger Offensive Question
Rico Dowdle is on track to give the Steelers a much-needed boost in the backfield in Week 6 after being sidelined since the toe injury he suffered in Week 2. In a season where the offense has had to juggle injuries at multiple spots, getting another running back back into the mix should at least help stabilize one area as Pittsburgh tries to keep things moving.
Mike McCarthy also made it clear the depth chart at running back is not shifting just because Dowdle is available again, with Jaylen Warren still holding the featured role. That leaves the Steelers in an interesting spot as they deal with injury issues at wide receiver and tight end, a situation that could push even more of the offense onto the backs and force the group to do a little of everything. Mike Tomlin Is Suddenly Back In A Steelers Story Fans Dread
Mike Tomlin is back in the middle of the kind of coaching rumor that Steelers fans have learned to follow nervously. According to reports, an ownership family in the NFC is weighing him as a candidate if its current coach misses the playoffs, a reminder that even after his long run in Pittsburgh, Tomlins name can still surface quickly whenever a major job might open up.
For Steelers observers, the part that matters most is not where the discussion starts, but how little is known about where it goes next. Tomlin has not confirmed any plans to return to coaching, even though he remains one of the top names expected to be in play this cycle, and his timeline and preferences are still unclear. He led Pittsburgh from 2007 to 2025, won a Super Bowl and finished with a 193-114-2 record, so any whisper of his next move naturally lands with extra weight around these parts. [Read more 🡒]
