Steelers Fans Have New Reason To Doubt Dallas Got Better

Despite high hopes, former Steelers Joey Porter Jr. and George Pickens are struggling to make a difference for the faltering Dallas Cowboys.

George Pickens and Joey Porter Jr. may be wearing Cowboys colors now, but Sunday night didn’t do much to suggest Dallas has found a fix.

Green Bay took care of the Cowboys 23-13 in Week 6, dropping Dallas to 2-4 and exposing, once again, how much work still needs to be done. Pickens and Porter were both part of the package after the Steelers sent Porter to Dallas a few weeks ago, and on paper their individual lines looked respectable enough. In reality, the game told a different story.

Pickens finished with six catches for 73 yards on 11 targets, but most of the production came too late to matter. Fifty-seven of those yards came in the fourth quarter, long after the Packers had seized control. CeeDee Lamb soaked up the bulk of the attention through the passing game, though he also had his own struggles finding much traction.

That late surge from Pickens leaves a real question hanging over Dallas: if the losses keep piling up and the ball keeps funneling heavily toward Lamb, does frustration start to build? Nothing explosive has surfaced yet, and Pickens hasn’t blown up publicly or made any boneheaded mistakes. But if the results stay the same and his role remains tilted toward the margins when the game is on the line, that tension feels inevitable.

Porter’s night was easier to break down. He held up well in coverage for most of the game, limiting what Jordan Love and Green Bay’s wideout duo of Christian Watson and Matthew Golden could do.

The problem came when the flags started flying. Porter was hit with two penalties, and the costly one was a long pass interference against Bo Melton.

On that sequence, he basically ran Melton out of bounds, and the Packers used the momentum from there to finish the first half with a Jordan Love QB sneak touchdown.

So no, Pickens and Porter didn’t single-handedly sink Dallas. But their arrival also hasn’t changed the bigger picture. The Cowboys are still searching for answers, and one more loss like this makes it harder to believe those answers are coming anytime soon.

Mike Tomlin Is Suddenly Back In A Steelers Story Fans Dread

Mike Tomlin is back in the coaching rumor mill, and for Steelers fans, that is the kind of offseason noise they know all too well. According to reports, an ownership family in the NFC is monitoring him as a possible candidate if its current coach misses the playoffs, which is enough to put Tomlin squarely back into the mix for the next coaching cycle.

Tomlin, of course, spent nearly two decades steering Pittsburgh from 2007 to 2025, winning a Super Bowl and posting a career mark of 193-114-2. He has not confirmed any plans to return to coaching, and beyond his status as a coveted name, the rest is still unsettled, leaving the league to wait on when, where or even whether he chooses to jump back in. Steelers Get Another Big Test As AFC North Pressure Builds

The Steelers head into Sundays 1 p.m. ET matchup with Tampa Bay trying to build on a road win that steadied them after an uneven start. Pittsburgh arrives at 3-2 after a 34-22 victory over the Colts, a game that showed enough offensive punch to keep pace in a crowded AFC North race, with TV coverage set for CBS and streaming available for fans following along.

Aaron Rodgers was sharp in that win, and Jaylen Warren did plenty of damage as well, giving Pittsburgh a combination it will again lean on against a Buccaneers team that just picked up its first victory of the season over Dallas. Tampa Bay has its own momentum to protect, which makes this feel like another early-season test for a Steelers group that cant afford to let a good win turn into a dead end. [Read more 🡒]

Aaron Rodgers Is Giving Steelers Fans A Different Side To Cheer

Aaron Rodgers has given Steelers fans a quieter storyline to follow alongside the football, one that has nothing to do with touchdowns or standings. After nearly nine years of estrangement, Rodgers has been working to repair his relationship with his family, and that progress has started to show up in public again. His family was there for his high school hall of fame induction and also took in a recent Steelers game, offering a glimpse of a reunion that once seemed far off.

The renewed connection has been visible enough for Rodgers brother to share moments from it on social media, which is no small thing for a family that has kept so much of its business private for years. Rodgers has said he plans to keep future updates to himself, but he has also made clear that mending those ties matters to him. For Steelers fans, it is a reminder that the veteran quarterbacks life in Pittsburgh is about more than what happens on Sundays. [Read more 🡒]
