Sebastian Joseph-Day is set to bring his fierce on-field persona to the Pittsburgh Steelers, after signing a two-year, $11 million deal. Known for his dual nature, Joseph-Day is the sweet teammate off the field, but transforms into a relentless force once the game starts.
“When I’m on the field, something just clicks,” Joseph-Day shared. “I become ‘Bash’ and it’s all about getting the job done.”
His style fits perfectly with the Steelers’ storied reputation for toughness. Plus, the move brings him closer to home, with his hometown of Stroudsburg, PA, just four hours away.
“The Steelers' tradition of toughness and winning is everything I believe in,” Joseph-Day said. “Being so close to home makes it even more special.”
While Cameron Heyward remains the cornerstone of the Steelers’ defensive line, Joseph-Day is expected to play a significant role. He’ll be versatile, contributing as a defensive tackle, end, and nose tackle.
“I’m here to make this defense better in any way I can,” Joseph-Day said. “Whatever the coaches need, I’m ready.”
Joseph-Day’s journey has seen him with the Titans for the past two seasons, where he made 41 tackles and two sacks in 2025. His performance earned him a Pro Football Focus grade of 66.6, placing him 41st among 127 qualifying interior linemen.
Drafted by the Rams in 2018, he’s had stints with the Chargers and 49ers, and even won a Super Bowl with the Rams. Over his career, he’s racked up 314 tackles, 15.5 sacks, and more, proving his impact on the field.
With his blend of skill and intensity, Joseph-Day is poised to be a key part of the Steelers’ defensive lineup.
