Roman Wilson’s climb through Steelers camp has become one of the clearest storylines of August, and Aaron Rodgers is making sure nobody misses it.
With Pittsburgh only two days away from its preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers at Acrisure Stadium, Wilson has been stacking strong days almost every time the team takes the field. He’s flashed sharper hands, cleaner route running and a more polished feel in team periods, turning an encouraging offseason into a steady run of momentum.
Rodgers has noticed the difference up close. On Tuesday, he was all in on No. 14 and the jump he’s made.
”He’s looks to be more dynamic [than last year],” Rodgers said. “He’s making plays.
He’s confident. The personality starts to come out.
He’s joking around more with you in the locker room. I just love it.”
That kind of praise carries weight, especially when it comes from the quarterback. Wilson has not only caught the eye of the media and fans, but also earned more trust inside the offense. He has worked with the first team in 11 personnel as the slot receiver and has also taken reps on the boundary, showing the Steelers they can move him around.
The numbers from last season tell part of the story, too. Wilson caught 12 passes in 2025, and two of them went for touchdowns late in losses to the Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Chargers.
