Pittsburgh Has A MAJOR Paris Problem

The NFL reassures fans and players as the Saints-Steelers game in Paris moves forward despite large-scale protests and security concerns in France.

The NFL says the Saints-Steelers game in Paris is still on schedule, even as protests continue to ramp up across France.

New Orleans and Pittsburgh are set to meet in Week 7 on Sunday, October 25, at Stade de France, with kickoff slated for 9:30 a.m. ET. The league made clear Sunday that there has been no change to the plan, despite the unrest and the added security questions that come with staging the NFL’s first regular-season game in the country.

According to Front Office Sports, the NFL issued a statement addressing both the logistics and the safety planning around the matchup. “We continue to work closely with local authorities and partners on all operational and security matters,” the league said.

The league also said both teams are getting regular updates and that league sites have not seen any disruptions.

That reassurance came after another heavy weekend in France. The BBC reported that about 550,000 people took part in Saturday’s protest, with authorities making at least 1,200 arrests as violence escalated. Demonstrators have been pushing back against rising living costs and proposed education spending cuts, and videos from Paris showed police using tear gas and water cannons as clashes grew more intense.

So far, the NFL has not announced any alterations to the game or the events around it. The Saints and Steelers are still preparing as usual while waiting for any further security guidance.

The Paris matchup is another step in the league’s international push, and it will be the sixth of nine international games on the 2026 schedule. For now, though, the message from the NFL is straightforward: the game is going ahead as planned.

Steelers May Finally Be Seeing Their D-Line Bet Pay Off

Keeanu Bentons recent stretch has given the Steelers something they badly needed along the defensive front: signs that a long-term investment might be starting to pay off. With Derrick Harmon sidelined by a foot injury, Benton was pushed into a bigger role and answered with an active showing in Pittsburghs overtime win over Tampa Bay, the kind of disruptive performance that can change the tone of a defensive line and reinforce why the team committed to him in August.

Patrick Graham said Bentons work against the Buccaneers stood out, and the Steelers have reason to believe theres more to come. The question now is how much of that impact can carry forward once the rotation settles again, because the teams bet on Benton was never just about one good afternoon. It was about finding a linchpin up front, and the early returns suggest the payoff may be coming into view. [Read more 🡒]

Steelers Still Have One Trade Deadline Problem Fans Can't Ignore

Even after a busy stretch of roster patching, the Steelers still have work to do before the 2026 NFL trade deadline becomes a real point of pressure. Pittsburgh has already added Sean Murphy-Bunting, Terrell Smith and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, but those signings only underline how many spots still deserve attention if the front office wants more stability and depth heading into the next stage of the roster build.

Guard remains a glaring question, and the secondary and receiving corps could use more help as well, with cornerback, linebacker and wide receiver all sitting on the list of needs. The Steelers are clearly monitoring ways to upgrade, but for now the bigger story is not what they have done, it is how many holes still remain and which direction they will choose when the market presents them with a real option. Steelers May Need A Bold WR Move Before This Gets Worse

Pittsburghs wide receiver room has already been stretched thin by injuries, and that has pushed the conversation beyond patchwork fixes and into the kind of move that can change the rest of the season. The idea making the rounds is a trade target from Tampa Bay, a proven veteran who has built a strong career while still offering enough current production to make the fit worth considering, even if the price tag would not be simple.

The problem for the Steelers is that any meaningful addition comes with layers of risk, from the financial commitment to the health questions surrounding the players recent seasons. He has dealt with a serious ankle injury and a fibula issue, and the appeal of adding another established pass catcher has to be weighed against how much uncertainty Pittsburgh can afford in a room that is already short on reliable bodies.
