John Leglue Stuns Fans With Retirement Announcement From NFL

Following a brief yet impactful NFL career, former Steelers lineman John Leglue steps away from football with gratitude and reflection.

It's been a notable week for former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive linemen as both Zach Banner and John Leglue have decided to retire from the NFL.

John Leglue, who shared the field with Banner back in 2021, took to social media to announce his retirement. His heartfelt message expressed gratitude for the journey and the people who supported him along the way.

"God, thank you for the ability, the opportunity, and for guiding me every step of this journey," Leglue shared. He also thanked his family, friends, and everyone who played a part in his career.

Leglue's time with the Steelers was marked by his participation in six games during the 2021 season, where he started five. He also had a brief appearance with the Atlanta Falcons in 2023. Despite multiple returns to the Steelers' practice squad, his on-field NFL career concluded after his stint with Atlanta.

At 29, Leglue had a final opportunity with the Los Angeles Rams in 2025. Unfortunately, he didn't make it past the final roster cuts and didn't join another team afterward. As Leglue steps away from the gridiron, he's looking forward to the next chapter of his life with optimism and gratitude for the game that gave him so much.
