Chelsea Green Stuns Steelers With Broken Ankle Kick

Chelsea Green defies her injury, impressively kicking a field goal with the Steelers despite a broken ankle.

Chelsea Green is proving that not even a “broken ankle” can slow her down. Ahead of WWE Friday Night SmackDown in Pittsburgh, Green showcased her resilience by kicking a field goal for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team shared a video of this impressive feat, where she not only nailed the kick but also took a bow, humorously demanding a raise from WWE.

“Thank you,” Green quipped, “With a broken ankle. I want a raise. I want a raise.”

This display of grit raises hopes for her return to the ring, possibly in time for WrestleMania 42 in April. Green has been sidelined since February 2026 due to an ankle injury sustained during an Elimination Chamber qualifying match against Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend, where Stratton emerged victorious.

Since the injury, Green has been seen wearing a walking boot and hasn’t competed. Her timeline for recovery remains uncertain.

Before her injury, Green was riding high off her first AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship reign with Ethan Page. They lost the titles to Mr. Iguana and Lola Vice shortly after her injury.

Green’s presence in Pittsburgh suggests she’ll be part of the March 27 SmackDown. Fans can expect her to make an impact, as she’s known for maximizing every opportunity.

Throughout her career, Green has captured the Women's United States Championship twice, becoming the inaugural champion in December 2024. She also held the Women's Tag Team Championship, initially with Sonya Deville, and continued her reign alongside Piper Niven after Deville’s injury, extending her championship run by 126 days.
