Miami QB Carson Beck is making waves as he gears up for the NFL Draft, and his schedule is a testament to the buzz surrounding him. Beck's itinerary includes visits with three teams, showcasing the interest he's generating across the league.
Before his pro day, Beck had a private meeting with the Jets, adding to the intrigue. His visit with the Steelers has already been noted, while his meeting with the Dolphins is considered a local visit. This means it doesn't count against their limit of 30 players they can host for interviews and medical evaluations.
For those unfamiliar, NFL teams can bring in up to 30 players for these evaluations at their facilities, but local talent-players who live or attended college nearby-don’t count toward this limit. These are often called “top 30 visits,” though they don't necessarily reflect a team's draft board hierarchy.
Beck, now 23, was a standout from Jacksonville, Florida, ranking as the 5th pro-style QB in the 2020 recruiting class. His commitment to Georgia paid off, as he spent five years there, contributing to two National Championships as a backup before stepping up as a starter in his final years.
However, Beck's journey hit a bump with a significant elbow injury at the end of the 2024 season. This prompted a transfer to Miami for his last collegiate year, where he led the team to a National Championship game appearance, showcasing his resilience and talent.
Throughout his college career, Beck played in 55 games over six years with Georgia and Miami. He completed an impressive 69.5 percent of his passes, amassing 11,725 yards, 88 touchdowns, and 32 interceptions. On the ground, he added 288 yards and seven touchdowns on 189 rushes.
As the draft approaches, Beck’s visits and performances are being closely watched. His potential and past achievements have certainly caught the attention of several NFL teams, making him a player to watch in this year's draft.
