Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. is at the center of trade talks, and interested teams just got a significant update on his potential availability. According to NFL insider Connor Hughes, the Jaguars are open to offers for Thomas and might trade him if the right deal comes along.
While there aren't any substantial offers on the table yet, Hughes suggests that a second-round pick might be enough to seal the deal with Jacksonville. "The Jaguars are entertaining offers for Brian Thomas Jr.," Hughes noted.
"If someone makes a compelling offer, they’re likely to move him. It's not imminent, but before the draft, don’t be surprised if Thomas is wearing a different jersey."
Even though ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Jaguars have no interest in trading Thomas, Hughes' insights indicate that the LSU standout could be acquired for the right price. This news is particularly exciting for teams in need of a receiver, such as the New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New England Patriots.
Thomas might have had a quieter season in 2025, but his rookie year in 2024 was nothing short of spectacular, with 1,282 yards and ten touchdowns on 87 receptions. A new environment could help Thomas rediscover his playmaking abilities. If teams like the Giants, 49ers, Steelers, or Patriots decide to make a move, they could be landing a future star still on his rookie contract.
