Aaron Rodgers has everyone on edge as the NFL world waits for his next move. While a return to the Pittsburgh Steelers isn't set in stone, other possibilities are swirling.
The Minnesota Vikings seemed like a potential landing spot before they opted for Kyler Murray. Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals have connections that could see the four-time NFL MVP heading to Phoenix.
But let’s not rule out a trip 300 miles northwest.
NFL insider Jason La Canfora recently hinted that Rodgers might join the Las Vegas Raiders next season.
“He either goes back to Pittsburgh,” an NFL executive told La Canfora, “or maybe he tries to work something out with Tom Brady in Las Vegas, or he hangs it up. He wants to be a starter. It’s down to those two teams … and that’s if the Raiders really want him.”
The Raiders, having sent Geno Smith back to the New York Jets, are poised to select Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.
If Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak feels Mendoza isn’t quite ready to lead the team, Rodgers could be the perfect mentor while the Heisman Trophy winner gets his feet wet.
On “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers, a Cal alum, showed no allegiance to Mendoza as a fellow Golden Bear, since Mendoza transferred from Berkeley to Indiana last season.
Rodgers has always emphasized the importance of guiding the next generation of quarterbacks, having previously mentored Will Howard during his rookie season.
“I’m available if anybody wants to learn,” Rodgers said. “I would say that the younger player is more hesitant, maybe. Like, my phone’s not ringing off the hook with guys wanting to learn.”
As the NFL offseason unfolds, all eyes remain on Rodgers and his next chapter. Will he bring his veteran savvy to Las Vegas, or will another path emerge? The suspense is palpable.
