Aaron Rodgers and Will Howard recently teamed up for a charitable cause at the Rx3 Foundation Charity Flag Football event held at Saddleback Community College in Mission Viejo, California. The Rx3 Foundation, co-founded by Rodgers, collaborates with a network of nearly 100 top-tier athlete and celebrity investors to make a difference.
The event was a star-studded affair, featuring NFL talents like Sam Darnold, Marcus Mariota, and Amon-Ra St. Brown. But the spotlight shone brightly on Rodgers and Howard, especially given their bond formed over the past year with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rodgers, a four-time NFL MVP, took Howard under his wing during the 2025 season. Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers didn't hold back his admiration for Howard, an Ohio State standout.
“I poured a lot into Will this year, and it was incredible to work with him,” Rodgers shared. He confessed to not following Howard's Kansas State days closely but was impressed by his Ohio State performances.
Rodgers emphasized the importance of mentorship, offering Howard guidance and insights from his extensive experience. “I told him, ‘I’ll help you as much or as little as you want,’” Rodgers said, highlighting his commitment to Howard’s development. Despite a fluke injury that sidelined Howard during a promising training camp, Rodgers saw potential in his personality and moxie, predicting a long career for him.
Howard's rookie season was marred by a fractured pinky on his throwing hand, keeping him off the field. However, his time on injured reserve didn't dampen the Steelers' enthusiasm. General Manager Omar Khan expressed excitement about Howard’s potential, citing positive practice tape reviews and Coach McCarthy’s high regard for the young quarterback.
As the Steelers await Rodgers’ decision on his future with the team, the organization remains optimistic about Howard’s growth and contribution. With Rodgers’ mentorship and the Steelers’ support, Howard’s journey in the NFL is one to watch.
