Penguins Reassign Ryan McAllister to Nailers After Recent Contract Signing

As the Penguins prepare for their upcoming games, Ryan McAllister is reassigned to the Nailers following his debut injury.

In a move that could shake up their roster dynamics, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have reassigned forward Ryan McAllister to their ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers. This decision follows McAllister's recent signing of a one-year AHL contract with the Penguins on February 5th. His debut was memorable, albeit bittersweet, as he contributed to a thrilling 6-5 victory over the Lehigh Valley Phantoms before an injury sidelined him in the third period.

McAllister, a 24-year-old hailing from London, Ontario, has an impressive track record. Before joining the Penguins, he played 72 games with the Charlotte Checkers, tallying two goals and five assists this season alone. Over his AHL career, McAllister has accumulated 46 points, showcasing his potential as a playmaker with 18 goals and 28 assists.

His journey to the pros began at Western Michigan University, where he made an immediate impact. Leading the conference with 36 assists and 49 points, he earned a spot on the NCHC All-Rookie Team.

His junior career was equally illustrious, as he dominated the AJHL with the Brooks Bandits, earning league MVP and playoff MVP honors. Under the guidance of current Wheeling head coach Ryan Papaioannou, McAllister led the league with 139 points, including 82 assists and 57 goals.

Looking ahead, the Penguins are gearing up for their next matchup against the Cleveland Monsters on Friday, February 27th, with a 7:00 p.m. faceoff at Rocket Arena. Fans can also catch the Penguins at home on Wednesday, March 4th, when they host the Springfield Thunderbirds at Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza, with puck drop scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

For those eager to catch the action live, the Penguins offer a variety of season-ticket packages, including 12-game, Flexbook, and Premium Seating plans. Additionally, individual-game tickets are available through Ticketmaster, the arena box office, or by contacting the Penguins directly.

Fans can follow every thrilling moment of Penguins hockey through AHLTV on FloHockey, which provides comprehensive coverage of all 32 AHL teams, along with access to a vast array of professional and junior league games.
