Boston College gets a couple of key pieces back this week as it tries to snap out of its slide and collect its first ACC win of the season against Pitt on Saturday afternoon in Chestnut Hill.
The Eagles enter at 2-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play after back-to-back losses to Virginia Tech, 21-14, and No. 24 SMU, 25-16. Pitt arrives at 5-1 and 2-1 in the ACC, but the Panthers are coming off their first defeat of the year, a 21-17 loss to UNC on Saturday afternoon.
Boston College will be boosted by the returns of linebacker Bodie Kahoun and offensive lineman Michael Crounse. Kahoun has been sidelined since getting hurt in the second quarter of the Eagles’ Week 2 game against Rutgers on Sept.
- Crounse, the team’s starting center, has appeared in just one game this season, coming on Sept. 5 at Cincinnati.
“Yeah, I think he'll [Crounse] be available for us,” said Boston College head coach Bill O’Brien on Thursday. “He will not start the game though. DJ [Williams] will start the game.”
The Eagles’ game captains are Mason McKenzie, Michael Crounse, Zeke Moore, KP Price, and Anthony Palano. Pitt’s captains are Mason Heintschel, Ryan Baer, Braylan Lovelace, and Cruce Brookins.
The last time these teams met was Oct. 4, 2025, in Pittsburgh, when Pitt rolled to a 48-7 win.

Narduzzi Just Left Pitt Fans With A Bigger Question Before Miami
Pat Narduzzi spent much of his postgame session sorting through what went wrong in Pitts 27-21 loss at Boston College, from the offenses uneven rhythm to the penalties and defensive issues that helped shape the result. He also addressed the decision to start Corey Dailey after a week-long competition, a move that put the quarterback situation front and center even as the coach emphasized the need to dig into the tape and clean up the details before the Panthers move on.
The bigger question now is whether that same uncertainty follows Pitt into next weeks matchup with Miami. Narduzzi left plenty to review after the loss, but he did not give the Panthers any clarity on how he plans to handle the position moving forward, which leaves the upcoming preparation a little more complicated than a typical postgame reset. Boston College Finally Stopped The Slide In A Wild Pitt Escape
Boston College came to Pittsburgh needing a reset after back-to-back losses, and it got one in a game that never settled into a comfortable rhythm for either side. The Eagles and Panthers traded punches throughout, with Phil Jurkovec hitting Javarius Green and Landon Wright for touchdowns while Bo MacCormack III and Evan Dickens added scores on the ground to keep Boston College in the hunt.
What made the afternoon feel so frantic was how often the lead changed hands and how little margin either team could find late. Pitt had chances to push things back in its direction, but the fourth quarter turned into a nerve-wracking sequence of turnovers and stalled drives, and Boston College found just enough execution at the end to leave with a 27-21 win and finally stop the slide. Pitt Makes A Quarterback Move That Changes The Boston College Stakes
The quarterback picture at Pitt has shifted again, and it comes at a time when every move carries extra weight. True freshman Corey Dailey will get the start over fifth-year senior Holden Geriner, giving the Panthers a different look under center as they head into a game that now feels a little more pivotal for the rest of the season.
Dailey, a highly rated recruit from Texas, has only seen limited game action, but he did show a spark in a late-game drive against Bucknell. Pat Narduzzi had already signaled one direction before, and he has not been shy about revisiting quarterback decisions when the situation demands it, so the change adds another layer of intrigue to how Pitt approaches Boston College.
