Phoenix Suns Ride Hot Streak Into February With Key Advantage Ahead

Riding the momentum of their strongest month yet, the Suns are set up for a pivotal February packed with home games, favorable matchups, and potential playoff implications.

Suns Catch Fire in January, Gear Up for Pivotal February Stretch

If January was a test of consistency, the Phoenix Suns passed with flying colors. The team posted an 11-5 record-their best month of the season so far-edging out their 10-win November and tying for the most wins in the NBA to kick off 2026. They strung together three separate three-game win streaks and dropped just five of their 16 games, putting themselves firmly in the thick of the Western Conference playoff race.

Phoenix has been jockeying for position with the Timberwolves and Lakers, trading spots in the standings throughout the month. But with the team finding its rhythm, February could be a turning point-especially with a favorable schedule on deck.

Home-Court Advantage Before the All-Star Break

The Suns wrapped up January with a four-game homestand, and they’ll ride that home-heavy stretch into February. Five of their six games before the All-Star break are at Footprint Center, with the lone road trip being a quick visit to Portland.

Here’s the kicker: Phoenix has already beaten all six of their upcoming opponents this season. The only exception?

Golden State, who got the better of them in their last meeting. But the Warriors will be without Jimmy Butler due to a torn ACL, and the Sixers will be missing Paul George as he continues to serve a 25-game suspension.

There’s also some uncertainty surrounding Anthony Davis and Jalen Williams, both of whom are dealing with injuries ahead of their respective matchups against the Suns.

And let’s not forget the last time Phoenix squared off with Oklahoma City-Devin Booker delivered a game-winner that instantly became part of Suns lore.

Of course, with the NBA trade deadline looming on February 5, both Phoenix and their opponents could look a little different by the time these games tip off.

Post-Break: Still at Home, But the Stakes Rise

After the All-Star festivities wrap up, the Suns return to the Valley with four more games at home:

  • Thursday, Feb. 19 vs. San Antonio Spurs
  • Saturday, Feb. 21 vs. Orlando Magic (NBA TV)
  • Sunday, Feb. 22 vs. Portland Trail Blazers
  • Tuesday, Feb. 24 vs. Boston Celtics
  • Thursday, Feb. 26 vs. Los Angeles Lakers

It’s a stretch that keeps Phoenix grounded-literally and figuratively. With 82% of their February games coming at home, this is the lightest travel month of the season for the Suns. That’s a big deal for a team trying to build momentum heading into a grueling March road trip.

The Suns will get their first looks this season at both the Celtics and the Magic. Boston has been one of the league’s biggest surprises, staying near the top of the Eastern Conference standings despite missing Jayson Tatum for a significant chunk of the season.

On the flip side, Orlando has underwhelmed. Paolo Banchero hasn’t quite found his groove, and Franz Wagner has been in and out of the lineup with injuries.

Then there’s the Lakers game on February 26-a matchup that could have major playoff implications. Phoenix leads the season series 2-1, and this will be the fourth of five meetings between the two teams.

Both squads were knocked out early in the NBA Cup, which led to the unusual five-game regular season series. This one is the final meeting in Phoenix and could be flexed into a national broadcast slot, depending on how the standings shake out.

And with LeBron James still defying Father Time, there’s always the question: could this be his last game in the desert?

The Road Ahead

February offers the Suns a prime opportunity to stack wins and solidify their playoff position. With so many games at home and a chance to take advantage of shorthanded opponents, Phoenix is in a position to make a serious push.

If January was about finding their stride, February is about turning that into sustained momentum. And with the trade deadline, All-Star break, and key matchups all packed into one month, the Suns’ path through February could go a long way in determining how far they’ll go this season.
