The Miles Bridges conversation in Phoenix is no longer just about fit on the floor. It’s about everything that comes with him, and on a day when the Suns Summer League team is set to play tonight, the off-court noise only got louder.
The latest round of concern came after TMZ Sports reported new legal documents tied to Bridges and Mychelle. According to TMZ Sports, Mychelle is facing a misdemeanor charge in North Carolina for allegedly throwing water on Miles during a custody exchange, “dousing him in full view of their children.”
In the documents, Miles said the incident happened during a June 22 custody exchange. He claimed Mychelle “threw water on me in front of the kids and said she’ll do it again if we argued.”
Miles also said he asked her why she did it, and that she told him it was because they were arguing. He added that he’s “scared for my kid’s safety.”
This is not the first time the legal situation has followed Bridges. Earlier this year, he was granted a temporary restraining order against Mychelle after saying she was cyberstalking him and showed up to one of his games in an effort to mess with his car. Mychelle denied those claims.
Miles described Mychelle as being on a “deliberate campaign of terror” to ruin his life, and the court ordered her to stay away from him.
Mychelle has also pushed back in her own filings. She said Miles filed criminal charges against her over the water incident in order to harass her and get her arrested so she would be taken away from their kids. She also alleged that Miles tried to run her over with a golf cart during a custody exchange, which she says led to her throwing water.
In her response, Mychelle said Miles keeps filing “false, frivolous” motions as part of an effort to remove their children from her care.
The Phoenix Suns had no comment at this time, according to Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.
That’s where things stand now: a basketball move that may make sense on paper, but one that has already dragged a franchise trying to reset its culture back into a messy public spotlight. The Suns knew the trade carried baggage, though it is still not finalized. And every new development only sharpens the scrutiny around Bridges, the team, and the people around them.

Summer League Could Expose Which Suns Prospects Are Actually Ready
The Suns head into 2026 Summer League with a roster that should tell them plenty about the next wave of their young talent. A mix of rookies and more seasoned prospects gives Phoenix a chance to sort through different stages of development, with first-rounders Peat and Maluach drawing the most attention and second-round picks Fleming and Brea also getting a real chance to show where they stand.
For a team trying to build out its future, this is the kind of setting that can separate long-term projects from players who are ready to push for a bigger role sooner rather than later. Peat, Maluach, Fleming and Brea all arrive with different expectations, and the Suns will be watching not just for production, but for the kind of progress that hints at how quickly each one can fit into the bigger picture. Suns Just Raised The Stakes For Khaman Maluach
The Suns used a lottery pick on Khaman Maluach last summer because they wanted to build around his size and long-term upside at center, and they have not backed away from that plan. Even so, the roster around him has made the path more crowded, with Mark Williams back in the fold and Oso Ighodaro still in place, which means Maluach is entering a season where development and opportunity will have to line up at the right time.
Brian Gregory has already made clear that Maluachs minutes will be determined by a mix of factors once the season begins, so nothing is being handed to him. For now, the next chance to make his case comes in Las Vegas, where Summer League gives him a stage to show the Suns why he should be more than a developmental piece in a rotation that already has some established names ahead of him.
