The Phoenix Suns have faced their share of challenges in recent seasons, even with the star power of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal. Now, with Booker as the lone All-Star, the team is looking to a promising future with Jalen Green joining the ranks.
Green, who was sidelined for much of the 2025-26 season, is now back in action and forming a dynamic backcourt with Booker. His return is a welcome boost, especially with Dillon Brooks enjoying a breakout season himself.
Green was a standout talent even before entering the league, being picked second overall in the 2021 NBA Draft. While Cade Cunningham, his draft rival, is now an MVP candidate, Green is carving his own path. Though his time with the Houston Rockets didn’t fully showcase his potential, his current role with the Suns offers a fresh start.
Playing alongside Booker, Green recognizes the advantages of sharing the court with a superstar. The attention Booker draws opens up opportunities for Green, allowing him to shine in his own right.
As Green noted, "With Book out there, a lot of attention is going to be on Book. A lot of opportunities out there.
Once they adjust and everyone gets going, it's pretty hard to stop... They have to make a decision each night.
It's not just a 1-2 punch. It's everybody coming in."
Looking ahead, the Suns have a promising core with Booker, Green, and Brooks. However, staying healthy remains a critical challenge. If they can overcome their injury woes, the Suns could become a formidable force in the Western Conference Playoffs.
