The Phillies’ summer at Citizens Bank Park is getting a little extra prospect heat.
Along with the big-league names expected to handle the spotlight this season, Philadelphia will also be represented by two of its top pitching prospects: Gage Wood and Wen-Hui Pan. Both were selected to the 2026 All-Star Futures Game, which means they’ll get a chance to pitch in Philadelphia before they ever do it as members of the Phillies’ major league roster.
The Reading Fightin Phils announced the news on Twitter/x, writing: "The future is headed to Citizens Bank Park," The Reading Fightin Phils shared. "Congratulations to Fightin Phils pitchers Gage Wood and Wen-Hui Pan on being selected to the 2026 All-Star Futures Game!"
The Futures Game is set for Sunday, July 12, at noon, and Wood and Pan will be the Phillies’ representatives on that stage.
Wood, 22, was drafted out of Arkansas in 2025 and has put together a 3.63 ERA over 52 innings in 15 starts this season. He’s struck out 75 batters along the way.
Pan has also made a strong impression. The right-hander has logged a 3.18 ERA in 20 relief appearances this season, covering 22.2 innings with 29 strikeouts.
For Phillies fans, it’s a chance to get an early look at two arms the organization clearly values. Seeing both take the mound at CBP should make for a fun July showcase, even if the real goal is still to watch them get there for good as big leaguers.

Phillies Just Turned Pittsburgh Drama Into A Petty Flex
After the Phillies followed a messy loss with a clean 8-0 shutout against Pittsburgh, the tone around the series shifted in a hurry. The clubs social media team leaned into the moment afterward, using a post that nodded to the radio side of the house and turned a tense stretch of cross-talk into a little scoreboard-style needling.
It was the kind of petty baseball flex that only lands when everyone involved knows exactly what set it off. With Scott Franzke and Larry Andersen already in the middle of the conversation from the night before, the Phillies found a way to answer the noise without saying much at all, and Pirates fans were the ones left reading between the lines. Kyle Schwarber Is Forcing His Way Into The NL MVP Debate
After a slow start that left Philadelphia buried early, the Phillies have climbed back into the playoff picture, and Kyle Schwarber has been one of the reasons the lineup looks far more dangerous now than it did in April. He has supplied the power and patience the club needed to steady itself, giving the offense a middle-of-the-order presence that can change a game with one swing and keep innings alive when pitchers try to work around the heart of the order.
Schwarbers case is starting to look familiar for award voters, too. He was the NL MVP runner-up a year ago, and with the Phillies back in contention, he is once again putting himself in that conversation as one of the leagues most impactful hitters. The longer he keeps producing at this level, the harder it gets to treat the debate as anything other than a legitimate one. [Read more 🡒]
