The Phillies’ summer at Citizens Bank Park is getting a little extra prospect heat.
Along with the big-league names expected to handle the spotlight this season, Philadelphia will also be represented by two of its top pitching prospects: Gage Wood and Wen-Hui Pan. Both were selected to the 2026 All-Star Futures Game, which means they’ll get a chance to pitch in Philadelphia before they ever do it as members of the Phillies’ major league roster.
The Reading Fightin Phils announced the news on Twitter/x, writing: "The future is headed to Citizens Bank Park," The Reading Fightin Phils shared. "Congratulations to Fightin Phils pitchers Gage Wood and Wen-Hui Pan on being selected to the 2026 All-Star Futures Game!"
The Futures Game is set for Sunday, July 12, at noon, and Wood and Pan will be the Phillies’ representatives on that stage.
Wood, 22, was drafted out of Arkansas in 2025 and has put together a 3.63 ERA over 52 innings in 15 starts this season. He’s struck out 75 batters along the way.
Pan has also made a strong impression. The right-hander has logged a 3.18 ERA in 20 relief appearances this season, covering 22.2 innings with 29 strikeouts.
For Phillies fans, it’s a chance to get an early look at two arms the organization clearly values. Seeing both take the mound at CBP should make for a fun July showcase, even if the real goal is still to watch them get there for good as big leaguers.
