A 13-game Thursday slate gives baseball bettors plenty of chances to hunt for home runs, and the SI Betting team is leaning into the long ball again.
Pete Crow-Armstrong already kept the streak rolling Wednesday night with two homers, cashing a home run prop from this column for the third straight day. Now the focus shifts to Thursday’s shorter board, which includes six games with first pitch before 3 p.m. EST.
Three names stand out for tonight’s home run props: Chase DeLauter, Kyle Schwarber and Fernando Tatis Jr.
DeLauter has quietly put together a strong 2026 season for the Cleveland Guardians, batting .279 with eight home runs and a .774 OPS. The power total is modest, but the recent form is hard to ignore. Since coming off the injured list, he has been scorching, hitting .404 over 12 games with one homer and an OPS north of 1.000.
That hot stretch meets a pitcher who has been giving up damage. Minnesota’s Bailey Ober has allowed 12 home runs in as many appearances this season and carries a 4.59 ERA.
He’s also making his first start since May 30 after elbow inflammation. Last season, Ober gave up 30 home runs in 27 starts, which puts Cleveland in position to do some damage in this matinee.
DeLauter looks like a strong value play in that matchup.
Schwarber is the other obvious power bat on the board. The Philadelphia Phillies slugger has homered in back-to-back games against the Cincinnati Reds and already owns 32 home runs this season. Over his last 24 games, he’s gone deep eight times while hitting .299 with a .979 OPS.
Even with that production, his prop is sitting at +142, and the matchup helps explain why. Cincinnati has allowed 124 home runs in 2026, sixth-most in MLB, and Brady Singer is taking the mound with a 5.03 ERA and 20 homers allowed in 17 starts. Schwarber hasn’t homered off Singer before, but he does have a pair of extra-base hits against him.
Tatis is the favorite play of the day. His 2026 power numbers are down - he has five home runs - but he’s still hitting .284 and remains a dangerous bat in the Padres lineup.
The case for Tatis gets stronger when you look at his history against Arizona starter Merrill Kelly. In his career, Tatis is 11-for-31 with four home runs against Kelly, good for a .355 average and a 1.186 OPS.
Kelly has also struggled this season, giving up 19 home runs in 15 outings while posting a 5.71 ERA. That combination makes Tatis the top home run target on Thursday.
Odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.

Phillies Linked To An Outfield Bat Fans Will Debate Fast
With the trade deadline closing in, the Phillies are being mentioned in the kind of outfield chatter that tends to pick up fast once July turns into August. The appeal is obvious enough: a left-handed bat with a strong hit tool and the kind of versatility that lets a team move pieces around if it needs to cover for an injury in right field.
Jung Hoo Lee fits the profile of a player that will split opinion in Philadelphia. The offense is easy to understand, but the rest of the package is more of a debate, with his defense and running game viewed as merely average and his contract adding another layer for any team trying to balance present needs with future flexibility. Mike Trout Trade Buzz Just Put Angels Fans Through This Again
The Phillies are still hunting for a right-handed answer in right field after injuries thinned out the mix around Adolis Garcia and Johan Rojas, and that search naturally sent the conversation toward Mike Trout. It is the kind of rumor that makes sense on paper for Philadelphia, given the need and Trouts stature, but it also comes with the familiar reminder that big names do not move easily, especially when the player in question is still performing well.
Mike Trout has not signaled any desire to leave Los Angeles, and the Angels have little incentive to entertain a move unless the situation changes dramatically before the deadline. For Phillies fans, the idea is easy enough to dream on because it would solve a real roster need, but for now it remains one of those summer trade threads that gets plenty of attention without getting any closer to a finish line. Don Mattingly Just Raised The Stakes For Phillies Dugout Plans
When the Phillies made their in-season change, it looked like a move aimed at stabilizing a club that had stumbled out of the gate and needed a new voice. Don Mattingly has given them exactly that kind of lift, steering Philadelphia back into the race and helping turn a 9-19 start into a far more respectable position over the stretch that followed.
The bigger question now is what comes next for the dugout. Mattinglys arrival was always framed as an interim solution, but the way the season has unfolded has made the future harder to sort out, especially with the Phillies still chasing the Braves in the NL East and weighing how much continuity they want after such a sharp midseason turnaround.
