After a brief delay, Flyers prospect Cole Knuble finally hit the ice for his professional debut with the Phantoms, despite their 5-3 loss to Springfield. It’s always a bit of a whirlwind jumping into the action, especially after a 10-day layoff post-contract signing, but Knuble handled it like a pro.
Arriving late Wednesday, Knuble barely had time to catch his breath, squeezing in a bit of practice on Thursday after completing his medical evaluations. Yet, he seemed unfazed by the quick transition.
Slotted on the right wing alongside seasoned forwards Jacob Gaucher and Anthony Richard, Knuble was initially set for a sheltered start. However, he quickly showed that he didn’t need much coddling.
From the get-go, Knuble stood out. Even amidst a somewhat chaotic start for both teams, he found his rhythm, showcasing his checking game with ease.
His line was the first to click, leading to the Phantoms’ opening goal. Knuble delivered a smooth feed to Richard, who capitalized with a goal that energized the team.
