The Flyers are rolling out a packed promotional slate for the 2026-27 season, and it comes with the kind of giveaway ideas that can only make sense in Philadelphia. From a goalie glove oven mitt to a rare Gritty dumpling, the team’s Tuesday reveal showed plenty of reasons for fans to circle dates at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
Philadelphia is calling 10 of its home dates “Independence Edition” games, a nod to the city’s history as the club enters its 60th season. Those games will “highlight the City of Brotherly Love through special activations and in-game promotions,” and the Flyers also teased a new alternate jersey again in the promo video. The look is expected to feature the Liberty Bell logo that appeared on the rug on draft night.
The first Independence Edition game lands on Tuesday, Nov. 3 against the Wild, and the final one comes Thursday, March 18 against the Bruins.
The team’s themed nights are spread across the schedule, starting with the Home Opener presented by Coca-Cola on Wednesday, September 30 against the Pittsburgh Penguins, when fans will get a T-shirt giveaway. October brings A Peanuts Halloween Spooktacular presented by Snickers on Tuesday, October 27 against the Columbus Blue Jackets, with a Snickers giveaway attached.
Other headline nights include the Marvel Super Hero Game on Friday, December 11 against the Calgary Flames; the Holiday Spectacular presented by Constellation Energy on Monday, December 21 against Columbus, which comes with a Flyers Ugly Sweater Beanie giveaway for the first 10,000 fans; Kids Day presented by Xfinity on Saturday, January 30 against the Winnipeg Jets; the PECO Go Green Game on Tuesday, March 16 against the Detroit Red Wings, featuring a Flyers Corduroy Hat giveaway; and the Keystone Rivalry Game presented by Ticketmaster on Tuesday, March 30 against Pittsburgh, when a Flyers Sweatshirt will be handed out.
The Feb. 22 matchup with the Canadiens is set for a 2:00 p.m. puck drop as the league tries out more weekday matinee games this season.
Beyond the themed nights, the Flyers also have community games planned to spotlight different corners of the hockey community in Philadelphia. The Flyers Charities Carnival has not been officially scheduled yet, but the team did note that the Flyers Carnival Game is taking place in October this year.
Then comes the grab bag of one-off giveaways and deal nights. On Tuesday, October 13 against the Seattle Kraken, it’s the $1 Pretzel Game presented by J & J Snack Foods.
On Monday, October 19 against the Colorado Avalanche, fans can get in on the $1 Hot Dog Game presented by Dietz and Watson. Sunday, November 15 against the Edmonton Oilers brings the Flyers Goalie Glove Oven Mitt presented by Mike’s Amazing.
Wednesday, February 3 against Tampa Bay is a Planet Fitness Coupon Giveaway. Wednesday, February 24 against Buffalo features a Gritty Blanket presented by Xfinity for the first 10,000 fans.
Tuesday, March 2 against Vegas is another $1 Hot Dog Game presented by Dietz and Watson. And on Thursday, April 1 against Washington, there’s a PA Lottery Coupon Giveaway.
The special-ticket nights are just as odd in the best way. Saturday, October 17 against Ottawa is Mystery Dumplings, featuring Flyers Dumplings and a rare Gritty Dumpling.
Sunday, November 1 against Utah is Friends night, with a Central Perk Mug and a photo on the iconic orange couch. Friday, December 11 against Calgary is Healthcare Appreciation Night with a Healthcare Gritty Pen Holder.
Friday, December 18 against Detroit is Teacher Appreciation Night with a Teacher Gritty Pen Holder. Thursday, January 28 against the Kings is First Responders Night with a Challenge Coin.
And Tuesday, March 2 against Vegas also doubles as Hello Kitty Night, complete with a Hello Kitty Backpack.
As for that rare Gritty dumpling, it’s not food at all - it’s a squishy toy.
