That’s where Omar Khan comes in. Instead of playing the same waiting game the Steelers have used over the last two years, the general manager could choose to move early if the season starts exposing holes at receiver.
No more standing around for Adam Theilen or Marquez Valdes-Scantling at the deadline. The idea now is to get ahead of the problem before it grows.
Hill would bring a clean fit for what Pittsburgh could want offensively at this stage of his career. In a slot role, he could attack the middle of the field, use his speed, and create after the catch in space. He could also move outside and let Pittman and Metcalf work inside, giving Rodgers three veteran weapons with enough versatility to make life miserable for defenses.
It would be a stunning move, no doubt. But it’s also the kind of aggressive play a team chasing a title can talk itself into fast. If the Steelers decide they need help at receiver, Hill is the kind of name that could make them act before anyone else does.
