During Philadelphia’s 27-7 loss to the Bears on “Monday Night Football,” ESPN cameras appeared to catch Sirianni unleashing at Bears linebacker D’Marco Jackson after a hit on Jalen Hurts sent the quarterback out for a mandatory concussion evaluation. The moment quickly drew attention as Hurts missed a few crucial plays while the Eagles were trying to punch in their first touchdown of the night.
Lip-readers caught the Eagles coach yelling, "You're a p---y!" at Jackson after the play. After the game, Sirianni addressed the viral exchange and said he wished he had handled it differently.
"I always have remorse when I act that way," Sirianni said. "I didn’t like how I handled that."
Sirianni also took a measured tone when talking about Hurts being pulled for evaluation, even though the sequence appeared to frustrate the quarterback and stall a scoring chance.
"Obviously frustrating, but the doctors have to do their job," Sirianni said. "They've got to protect these guys. We had a hit on a sideline that they looked yet."
