Nick Foles didn’t soften the message after the Eagles’ latest loss. He went straight at the issue he thinks matters most: the noise around the team shouldn’t be the story.
Philadelphia is sitting at 2-6 and mired in a six-game losing streak, a run the franchise hasn’t endured in over a decade. Injuries have been part of the mess, but the bigger problem has been the inability to absorb them and keep moving. This year, the Eagles haven’t been able to do that.
That backdrop made Foles’ comments on Brandon Graham’s “BG Unblocked” podcast land even harder. With former Eagles players like Foles, Graham, Jason Avant, Vinny Curry, and others speaking more openly because they’re now in the media, the conversation around the team has shifted toward culture. And the Eagles have clearly noticed.
Jalen Carter said he doesn’t care what fans say after the Dallas Cowboys’ Week 7 loss, while Sirianni pushed back on Foles’ culture concerns by saying, “he’s not in the building,” which only added more fuel to the discussion. Foles responded with a blunt explanation of where he stands.
“BG and I’ve said things. The fact that we are ruffling feathers on people that are at the top bothers me a little bit.
It bothers me. The fact that they’re getting emotional based on what we say- block it out.
We’re talking to the fans. The fact that you’re getting frustrated about what Brandon Graham and Nick Foles are saying- we care so much about the Eagles.
We’re not like, ‘Oh, we’re going to talk bad about the Eagles.’
BG and I want to talk really good about the Eagles. Jason Avant wants to talk really good about the Eagles.
But when we go put on the tape and we dissect the tape, there’s too many things on the tape that we have to share from our insights and hoping that improves. So that’s sort of where I’m at, BG.
I know that was long-winded, but I’m emotional about it.
I think it’s like the fact that they’re getting frustrated is a problem in there, and they need to block us out, and they just need to focus on doing what they do. Because if they do that, they can turn this thing around. I always believe that.”
That’s the heart of it for Foles: the Eagles need to tune out everything else and get back to work. In a season this rough, he believes the outside chatter should be the last thing on anyone’s mind.
There’s also a growing sense that something is off inside the building. The season has felt different from last year, and the cracks have become harder to ignore as the losses pile up. Jalyx Hunt said publicly that he feels the locker room is in better shape this year than last season, but that hasn’t stopped questions from swirling.
The Eagles have now lost six straight and are staring at the possibility of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2020. That puts the pressure squarely on Sirianni to get everyone aligned and keep the season from sliding any further.
If the team can’t do that, the final nine games will say plenty about where this franchise is headed. And if the Eagles keep spiraling, this could end up being the worst season they’ve had in a long time.

Eagles Suddenly Have A Bigger Week 9 Concern Than Fans Expected
The Eagles Week 9 prep took another turn Thursday when their second injury report of the week showed seven players sidelined from practice and several more working on a limited basis ahead of Sundays matchup with the Giants. The list only sharpened the sense that Philadelphia is heading into this one with more uncertainty than expected, even as the team continues to sort through absences at key spots on the roster.
Saquon Barkley was among the notable names to appear on the limited list, a small but important development after he did not practice Wednesday, while Tanner McKee also was limited. On the other side, the Giants had their own injury questions, with Malik Nabers missing practice but still expected to play and Cam Skattebo trending toward sitting out, leaving both teams to navigate a short week with a few of their biggest names in flux. Nick Foles Just Said What Eagles Fans Have Been Thinking
Nick Foles has stepped back into the conversation around the Eagles, and this time it is not as the quarterback who delivered the franchise its most famous moment. On recent podcast appearances, Foles openly criticized the organizations culture and the way the offense has been coached, saying his frustration comes from a place of wanting fans to understand what has gone wrong and why improvement has to start inside the building.
For Eagles supporters, the comments land with extra weight because they come from someone who knows the pressure of playing in Philadelphia and what it takes to survive there. Foles did not frame his remarks as a personal attack so much as a challenge to the teams standards, pointing to issues with the offensive approach and the way players have executed within it. Eagles Make A QB Change With Offense Desperate For A Spark
The Eagles are turning to Joe Milton for their Week 9 meeting with the Giants, a notable shift as the offense looks for any kind of jolt. Nick Sirianni confirmed the move over Tanner McKee and said the decision came after conversations with general manager Howie Roseman and the offensive staff, with the final call resting with him.
Sirianni also made clear he would have preferred to keep the switch under wraps, hoping to preserve a competitive edge before kickoff, but the news leaked through ESPN. For a Philadelphia offense that has been searching for a spark, the quarterback decision now becomes part of the larger question of how the Eagles plan to steady things against a division opponent that knows them well.
