Stoutland University: A Legacy of Excellence
Stoutland's tenure in Philadelphia was nothing short of legendary. Arriving in 2013 under Chip Kelly, he weathered three head coaching changes, earning respect across the league.
His impressive record includes 27 Pro Bowl selections and 15 All-Pro honors for his linemen. Notably, he developed Jordan Mailata from a rugby player into a cornerstone left tackle and paved the way for Saquon Barkley's record-breaking 2,005-yard rushing season in 2024.
The decision to retire wasn't due to a waning passion but rather a personal realization. On Nick Foles’ “The SZN” podcast, Stoutland shared that he recognized it was time to step back.
He had long advised veterans like Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson about recognizing when their fire was dimming, and he realized he was at that point himself. The 2025 season, marked by offensive struggles, served as his swan song.
