Jason Kelce found himself at the center of the conversation Sunday morning, and not because of a play he made on the field.
The former Eagles center was in the booth for NFL Network’s coverage of the Jacksonville Jaguars-Philadelphia Eagles game in London, working alongside Dave Pasch and Kurt Warner. For Kelce, it was a familiar setting in one sense and a brand-new one in another: he spent his entire NFL career in Philadelphia, won a Super Bowl there and is headed for Canton soon enough. That background is exactly why some viewers thought his call sounded tilted toward the Eagles.
One NFL writer, Tony Farmer, took to X to argue that Kelce was leaning too hard toward his old team. “Jason Kelce is openly pulling for the Eagles while announcing for NFL Network.
He’s moaning “oh gosh” when there was a fumble by Philly. Tough to listen to,” Farmer wrote.
Plenty of fans pushed back on that read, though, saying Kelce did not sound especially partial and that he was simply reacting to the game in real time. “He was “oh goshing” and saying “great play” and talking about hardworking players on both sides of the ball the entire game. Judging him on the last minute of an unbelievable win is so lame,” one fan wrote.
Others made the same point even more bluntly. “This is such a lazy take.
If you listened to the commentary at all, he was lamenting errors by both teams equally. Get new material and stop whining,” another fan said.
There was also support for how Kelce handled the booth from a football standpoint. “I thought Kelce was very good in the booth and had lots of insight, in particular, into the Eagles’ offensive line woes,” one fan wrote.
And not everyone thought the criticism made much sense in the first place. “He’s been hyped all game on jaguars lol stop hating bro,” another fan added.
So the debate was less about whether Kelce had presence on the call and more about how viewers interpreted it. Some saw hometown bias.
Others saw a former player giving an honest read as the game unfolded. Either way, Kelce’s broadcasting debut got people talking, and it sounds like he may get another shot later this season.

Nick Sirianni Just Sparked A Bigger Eagles Problem Than One Loss
Damien Harris added another layer to the Eagles frustrating loss to Jacksonville by questioning Nick Siriannis late-game management, especially on special teams. Philadelphia had just taken the lead on a field goal, but the decision that followed opened the door for a return that flipped the field and left the defense in a bad spot as the clock wound down.
For a team already dealing with questions about its personnel and the ripple effects of Lane Johnsons status, the episode felt bigger than one missed chance. The special-teams issues only sharpened the scrutiny on Sirianni and the staff, because this was not just about one bad bounce or one bad series - it was about how the Eagles are handling the margins that decide tight games. Jordan Mailata Suddenly Has To Carry A Bigger Eagles Burden
Jordan Mailata has had no shortage of reasons to feel the weight of the last week, and it has come at a time when the Eagles could least afford more instability. Between a narrow loss in London and the upheaval along the offensive line, the left tackle found himself talking about a group that suddenly looks very different and a team trying to steady itself during a three-game skid. Even with the disappointment, Mailata pointed to the way the room has handled the adversity and the responsibility that comes with being one of the veterans still standing.
Mailata knows the burden is heavier now as Philadelphia turns its focus to the Panthers, and his voice matters more with each passing day. He spoke about the challenge of leading through change, the need to keep the group together, and the belief that the Eagles can still regroup if the line and the locker room stay connected. The larger question hanging over this stretch is how quickly that unity can translate into cleaner play and a much-needed win. [Read more 🡒]
Jason Kelce Is Becoming An Eagles TV Debate Fans Will Notice
Jason Kelce was back on the NFLs London series broadcast for a second straight week during the Eagles-Jaguars game, and he continued settling into his post-playing role as a color commentator. The former Eagles center brought the kind of loose, conversational energy that has made him an attention-grabber on TV, mixing analysis with personal stories from his own football background.
During the broadcast, Kelce highlighted Jaguars defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton and even drifted into an anecdote about his high school days as a long snapper, the sort of side conversation that can make him feel more like a hangout partner than a polished analyst. Not everyone was impressed, though, as Jason Whitlock took to X to criticize Kelces commentary and airtime, turning a routine broadcast appearance into another reminder that Kelce is already becoming a talking point beyond the game itself.
