Jason Kelce says the Taylor Swift effect didn’t just hit the NFL - it changed who was walking up to him.
The former Philadelphia Eagles center said the audience around the league shifted in a noticeable way after Travis Kelce and Swift became a couple in 2023. Speaking Tuesday on “The Ross Tucker Podcast,” Jason Kelce described it as a slow change that suddenly turned into something much bigger.
“Yeah, it was definitely gradual,” Jason said on “The Ross Tucker Podcast” on Tuesday. “And then it just like was a big flip obviously when Taylor and Travis started dating. And that led to a whole other demographic and fan base being interested, not just me, my entire family, right?”
He said the change in who recognized him was obvious in everyday life.
“I went from very much being dominated by large fat men coming up to me and shaking my hand and thanking me for being an Eagle to little girls,” Jason continued.
Variety reported that games Swift attended often drew more than 35% female fans, underscoring how much her presence widened the league’s reach.
