In a TikTok video, Pamela Hurts used a blue-eyed, smoothed-over face filter and delivered a simple message: “my quarterback is more clutch than your quarterback” -
The clip has a few things going for it. The filter stands out immediately, and there’s also a lone purple balloon sitting behind her, which only adds to the odd charm of the whole thing.
The joke lands because Hurts has actually backed it up on the field. Through the first two weeks of the season, he has gone 10-of-14 for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns, along with 5 rushes for 26 yards in fourth-quarter, one-score situations with the score margin within 8 points. That stretch includes a game-winning touchdown drive in the final two minutes against the Titans.
Hurts has also been one of the most productive quarterbacks in crunch time overall this season. In the final five minutes of the fourth quarter and overtime in one-score games, only two quarterbacks have been more productive.
