Jalen Brunson spent part of his day off doing what a lot of fans only dream about: sitting on the ManningCast and calling a touchdown before it happened.
The Knicks captain joined Peyton and Eli Manning during the third quarter of the Eagles’ Monday Night Football matchup with the Cowboys and was asked to make a red-zone prediction. Brunson went with a crossing route for a score, and Makai Lemon delivered moments later by working across the field and hauling in a touchdown from Tanner McKee.
Peyton Manning was quick to note that it was really a “slant” and not a “crossing” pattern, but he still happily counted it for Brunson. “Anything across the middle is a crossing route.”
That call earned Brunson a spot on the “Perfect Prediction Panel,” alongside NFL quarterbacks like Bryce Young and fans such as Brenda Song and Kate Hudson.
The appearance came during Brunson’s day off before the Knicks face the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
For the Eagles, though, the prediction ended up being the bright spot. Philadelphia fell 38-21 to Dallas, with McKee stepping in after the discovery of blood clots in Jalen Hurts’ lungs and doing what he could to keep things competitive. He finished 23 of 35 for 211 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Saquon Barkley was back after missing the team’s last couple of games and gave the Eagles a lift with 62 rushing yards and his first touchdown of the season on limited carries.
Lemon led Philadelphia’s receivers with seven catches for 67 yards and that first touchdown of his own. The Eagles selected him with the 20th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft out of USC.

Dallas had the final answer anyway. Dak Prescott passed for 212 yards and three touchdowns, including two to CeeDee Lamb, while Javonte Williams powered the ground game with 155 rushing yards and a touchdown on 25 carries.

Eagles Trade Deadline Reality Just Got Hard To Ignore
Five straight losses have pushed the Eagles into an uncomfortable spot at the NFL trade deadline, where the conversation has shifted from adding help to potentially moving pieces out. With the season sliding and future draft capital suddenly carrying more weight, league chatter has started to circle around several names on the roster, especially players whose contracts make them easier to deal before the deadline passes.
Moro Ojomo has drawn the most attention among the expiring-contract options, while the broader list of possible trade candidates also includes Riq Woolen, Dallas Goedert and Kelee Ringo. Hollywood Brown is in the mix, too, after being a healthy scratch against the Panthers and then popping up in reporting as a player who could be on the move soon, which only adds to the sense that the Eagles are bracing for a deadline that could look a lot different than the one they planned for a few weeks ago. Nick Foles Just Turned Up The Heat On Eagles Culture
Former Eagles quarterback Nick Foles added a fresh layer to an already uncomfortable stretch in Philadelphia, questioning the state of the teams culture after the club dropped its fifth straight game. His comments pointed to a broader concern about how the locker room has changed since the departure of former offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, a name that carried real weight during the most stable years of the franchises recent run.
Nick Sirianni pushed back in his response, choosing not to get pulled into the noise around the losing streak. He said his focus remains on the relationships inside the building, with the Eagles trying to keep their attention where it belongs while outside criticism continues to pile up. [Read more 🡒]
Eagles Offense Suddenly Faces A Bigger Problem Before Commanders Game
A week that already felt precarious for the Eagles took another turn on Wednesday, when six players were missing from practice ahead of a pivotal NFC East meeting with the Washington Commanders. The timing could hardly be worse for a team trying to steady itself after a five-game losing streak, especially with the offense already forced to adapt without its starting quarterback.
Philadelphia has been managing life without Jalen Hurts, and now the injury report has added more uncertainty around two of the pieces the offense leans on most. Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith were both sidelined from Wednesdays session, leaving the Eagles with even more to sort through as they try to keep pace in a division game that already carried plenty of weight.
