Howie Roseman has truly become the mastermind behind the Philadelphia Eagles' success. After some early bumps in his executive journey, he's now the driving force in assembling top-tier NFL rosters year after year.
"Trade calls with Howie?.... I always watch myself a little bit when he calls because he's so good at what he does"

Roseman’s reputation is so formidable that when his 215 area code pops up on other general managers' phones, they pause, knowing they might be persuaded into a deal that favors the Eagles. It’s a testament to his prowess in finding value where others might not see it.
John Spytek, the Raiders' GM and a former Eagles colleague, shared his perspective at the NFL Combine. He noted that even with his close ties to Roseman, he remains cautious during trade discussions.
“Howie's great, and he's one of the best at what he does,” Spytek remarked. “I always watch myself a little bit when he calls because he's so good at what he does.”
Spytek's own journey with the Eagles from 2005 to 2009, starting as an intern and moving into scouting, gave him a front-row seat to Roseman’s rise. Despite his own impressive track record, including Super Bowl victories with the Broncos and Buccaneers, Spytek acknowledges the unique challenge Roseman presents in negotiations. It makes you wonder how other GMs, without that personal connection, handle the pressure when the Eagles reach out.
