Jalen Hurts has found a fan in the Philadelphia Eagles' new wide receiver, Hollywood Brown. The Eagles recently signed Brown to a one-year deal, and he shared some insights during a podcast appearance with former NFL players Emmanuel Acho and LeSean McCoy.
Brown's admiration for Hurts goes back to their college days. He mentioned, "I've always been a fan of Jalen Hurts. When he came to Oklahoma, I was just entering the league and even considered staying in school to play with him."
Though Brown chose the draft over college, fate has brought them together seven years later, giving him the chance to catch passes from Hurts. Brown has had the privilege of playing with elite quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes, but he’s particularly excited about one of Hurts' standout skills.
"I personally feel like he's one of the top vertical passers in the league," Brown said. "His deep ball is great.
That's what receivers love-knowing he's going to put it on the money. On those crucial third downs, he can make it happen no matter what."
Brown has witnessed Hurts' deep ball prowess firsthand, notably during Super Bowl 59 when Hurts completed “The Dagger” to DeVonta Smith, while Brown watched from the opposing sideline. Now, he’s eager to be on the receiving end of similar plays.
In Philadelphia, Brown is expected to be the WR3 behind A.J. Brown and Smith.
However, there’s buzz about a potential trade involving A.J. Brown this offseason.
If that unfolds, Hollywood Brown could see a bigger role in the Eagles' offensive game plan.
