PHILADELPHIA - The Eagles are staring at the trade deadline with a roster full of names that naturally invite speculation, but Landon Dickerson isn’t buying into the noise.
When asked where his head is with Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline approaching, the left guard dismissed the chatter as propaganda.
“It’s really not up to me,” said the Eagles’ left guard. “I’ve said it a lot of times; I love this team.
I love this city. This is my home right now.
Really, all I care about is winning a championship.”
Dickerson is one of several players whose names have surfaced in deadline talk, along with Jordan Mailata, Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, Tyler Steen, Dallas Goedert, Riq Woolen, and Moro Ojomo. The idea of moving Mailata and Dickerson would strip away two key pieces from the offensive line that helped define the Super Bowl era just two years ago.
Trading Carter would clear salary but leave another hole at defensive tackle. Smith, meanwhile, is still on a rookie deal and set to count $13.7 million next year, which makes him a bargain.
Howie Roseman has already shown he’s willing to make a deal when the price is right. Cam Jurgens was not expected to be moved in early October, yet the Eagles sent him out for a second-round pick in 2028 and a fifth-rounder next year in what amounted to a classic offer he couldn’t refuse.
That kind of move is part of why the deadline conversation has become so loud around Philadelphia. If the Eagles were to part with Mailata and Dickerson, it would signal a clear surrender on 2026 and maybe even 2027, depending on how they would replace a left tackle, a left guard, and possibly a right guard if Steen leaves in free agency. Willie Lampkin was mentioned as an option, but the question remains whether he is truly starter material.
Steen is in the final year of his contract, which puts him in the same general bucket as players who could draw interest. Goedert is one of them, and he said he is focused on the task in front of him.
“I’m here right now, trying to go through practice, go through meetings, and prepare for this game,” said Goedert, referencing Sunday’s Week 9 home game against the New York Giants.
Ojomo could be the most valuable name of the bunch if the Eagles choose to listen. The seventh-round defensive tackle said the organization means a great deal to him and made clear how much he wants to keep producing in Philadelphia.
“Howie and [owner Jeffrey] Lurie mean so much to me for giving me this opportunity to play for this team,” said the seventh-round defensive tackle. “I think I was the 23rd DT picked up, so if we can make [a new contract] work, I love playing for the city.
I love working hard for the city. I wanna produce results for the city.
I hate letting them down.”
The bigger picture is unusual for Philadelphia. The Eagles have reached the playoffs in eight of the last nine seasons, yet sitting at 2-6 puts them in a position where standing pat doesn’t make much sense. The last time Roseman moved a player of that caliber was in 2021, when he dealt Zach Ertz while Ertz was still in his prime.
Nick Sirianni said earlier in the week that the team stays in communication with players who might be affected by the rumors.
“You’re always in constant communication with your guys,” he said. “I think we have a good beat on what guys are going through, any situation that they’re going through, what guys need to be talked to.
Of course, you talk to all the guys about that. I’m not saying that necessarily is in front of the room, but maybe more one-on-one situations there.”
Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio took a more restrained approach when asked whether he addresses trade speculation with his players.
“No,” he said. “I mean, I would if I thought there was a rumor out there gaining steam that had no truth to it, but I don't see that at this point in time.”

Nick Foles Just Said What Eagles Fans Have Been Thinking
Nick Foles has never been shy about the Philadelphia Eagles, and his latest comments landed because they came from a place fans know well: frustration with how the organization has operated. Speaking on podcasts, the former Super Bowl quarterback pointed to concerns about the teams culture and offensive coaching, saying his criticism is meant for the fan base and aimed at pushing the franchise toward improvement.
For Eagles supporters, it is the kind of candid assessment that echoes a familiar unease whenever the offense stalls or the operation feels out of sync. Foles did not frame it as a drive-by shot so much as a message from someone who has lived inside the building and still feels invested in what happens there, even if the details of his sharpest comparisons remain part of the larger conversation. Eagles Suddenly Have A Backup QB Situation Fans Need To Watch
The Eagles backup quarterback picture has gotten a little murkier heading into the matchup with the Giants. Tanner McKee was limited in practice because of a rib injury, and after recently losing the No. 2 job to Joe Milton, his status now adds another layer to a position group that was already shifting behind Jalen Hurts.
Cole Payton would move up as the top backup if McKee cant go, which is the kind of depth chart wrinkle teams usually prefer to avoid this late in the season. McKees situation is worth watching beyond just Sunday, too, with reports suggesting Philadelphia may look to move him before the trade deadline and no expectation that hell be back after this year. Eagles Make A QB Change With Offense Desperate For A Spark
With the offense searching for a jolt, Nick Sirianni confirmed Philadelphia is turning to Joe Milton over Tanner McKee for its Week 9 game against the Giants. The switch comes after the Eagles spent time weighing their options with general manager Howie Roseman and the offensive staff, a sign the decision was not made lightly as the team looks for a different look under center.
Sirianni also said he had hoped to keep the move quiet to preserve a competitive edge, but the news leaked before kickoff through ESPN. Even with the reveal out in the open, the choice still leaves the Eagles with a fresh wrinkle at quarterback and a clear sense that the staff believes a change was needed to spark the unit.
