From there, it was a steady climb - a stint as a team manager at Kansas, followed by two years under Nick Saban at Alabama as an offensive assistant. That time in Tuscaloosa no doubt helped sharpen his understanding of high-level offensive football.
In 2017, Weis made the jump to the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons as an offensive assistant. But it was his work with Lane Kiffin that really put him on the radar.
Kiffin hired Weis to run the offense and coach quarterbacks at Florida Atlantic from 2018 to 2019, and then again at South Florida in 2020 and 2021. When Kiffin took over at Ole Miss, Weis followed - serving as OC and QB coach from 2022 through 2025.

Right now, Weis is expected to follow Kiffin once again - this time to LSU - where he’s slated to become the Tigers’ offensive coordinator for the 2026 season. But the Eagles’ interest could change that trajectory. If Philadelphia brings him in and likes what they hear, he could be making the jump back to the NFL in a high-profile role.
For the Eagles, this would be a hire that leans into innovation and familiarity with modern college concepts - something that’s becoming increasingly valuable in today’s NFL.
