Hollywood Brown hasn’t given the Eagles much through the first two weeks, and now a new knee issue could force Philadelphia to turn to a surprising name: Elijah Moore.
Brown has not recorded a reception in 2026, though he did chip in with two carries for 12 yards in the Eagles’ 24-20 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 2. Philadelphia has been easing him into the offense, trying to use his speed as a weapon. But his status suddenly looks shaky after he was added late to the injury report and missed Friday’s practice with a knee injury.
If Brown can’t play in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears, Moore could be the next man up.
Moore arrived in Philadelphia as one of the offseason’s more curious additions, the kind of signing plenty of fans probably didn’t expect to matter. He’s been a steady NFL WR3 type for years, without ever fully breaking through. In 70 career games, Moore has 209 catches for 2,274 yards and nine touchdowns, plus 95 rushing yards and two scores.
His career has taken him through the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos. Before last year, he had posted at least 438 receiving yards in every season since 2021. That changed in 2025, when he managed only 112 yards on two teams, both with the Bills, and did not register any stats with the Broncos.
Even so, the Eagles saw enough to keep him around. Moore built chemistry with Jalen Hurts after arriving in Philly, and he drew positive reviews during training camp. The preseason didn’t exactly scream breakout, though, with Moore logging a two-yard run and two catches for 10 yards.
Philadelphia still carried six wide receivers, including Moore, to preserve depth. Through the first two games, he was the odd man out and spent both weeks inactive.
Brown’s uncertain availability could change that quickly. Moore doesn’t bring the same speed, but the Eagles could ask him to handle some of the same duties Brown has gotten early on, including reverses and jet sweeps. He could also help on special teams coverage.
A bigger role in the passing game still looks unlikely. Darius Cooper earned more work after catching the game-winning touchdown, while DeVonta Smith, Makai Lemon, and Dontayvion Wicks are also in line for touches. Britain Covey is on the roster too, though he’s more of a return specialist and would only be used on offense in an emergency.
Still, Moore has a path to sneaky involvement if Brown sits. That would make him one of the more interesting pieces to watch for the Eagles in Week 3.

Eagles Suddenly Face A Tougher Week 3 Question Than Expected
The Eagles went into the week expecting a clearer read on Chicagos quarterback situation, but the Bears now appear likely to be without Caleb Williams because of a hamstring injury. Tyson Bagent has cleared concussion protocol and could return to practice, which at least gives Chicago another option as it sorts through the position for Week 3.
Ben Johnson confirmed Bagents clearance, a positive development for a Bears team still trying to stabilize under center. Case Keenum could still end up starting, so Philadelphia may have to prepare for more than one possibility even as the matchup looks different than it did when the schedule first pointed to Williams. Eagles Defense Suddenly Faces A Bigger Bears Problem Than Quarterback
The Bears quarterback picture has been murky all week, and that has kept a little extra attention on Chicagos visit to Philadelphia. Backup Tyson Bagent was back at practice after reportedly clearing concussion protocol, according to head coach Ben Johnson, after sitting out earlier in the week and fueling speculation that Case Keenum might get the nod if Caleb Williams remains sidelined.
For the Eagles, the bigger issue is not simply who lines up under center, but how much the uncertainty changes the shape of the game. The betting line has already moved as Bagents status has swung back and forth, and Philadelphias defense now has to prepare for a matchup that could still tilt depending on whether the Bears are dealing with one backup quarterback, another, or more late-week confusion. Eagles May Finally Get Pass-Rush Help Theyve Been Missing
The Eagles pass rush may finally be close to getting a needed boost as Jonathan Greenard moved into questionable territory for Week 3 against the Bears after practicing fully for the first time this season. Greenard, who missed training camp and Philadelphias first two games with a pectoral injury, has been working his way back and sounded optimistic about being available when the team heads to Chicago.
Even if he is active, the Eagles are not expecting Greenard to jump straight into a heavy role right away. The plan is to ease him in situationally, which gives Philadelphia a chance to add some edge help without forcing him into a full workload before he is ready. For a defense looking for more pressure off the edge, his return would be a timely step in the right direction. [Read more 🡒]
