Eagles Set Key Pre Draft Visit Fans Expected

As the Eagles prepare for the 2026 NFL Draft, a key pre-draft visit with a top offensive line prospect highlights their strategic focus on future team stability.

As the countdown to the 2026 NFL Draft ticks away, the Philadelphia Eagles are deep into their pre-draft preparations, honing in on key positions that need reinforcement. With the draft less than a month away, the Eagles are actively evaluating prospects, focusing on wide receiver, safety, edge rusher, and notably, the offensive line.

The offensive line is a particular area of interest due to the potential retirements of stalwarts Lane Johnson and Landon Dickerson. The Eagles are exploring options to ensure a smooth transition for these pivotal roles.

Enter Arizona State's offensive lineman, Max Iheanachor, who has caught the Eagles' eye. Iheanachor, a standout performer last season, earned second-team All-Big 12 honors.

His impressive stats-allowing just 14 pressures, three quarterback hits, and zero sacks over 484 pass-blocking snaps-underscore his potential.

Iheanachor is scheduled for a pre-draft visit with the Eagles, signaling their serious interest. His profile as a projected first-round pick makes him an attractive option, especially considering his potential to start from Day 1. However, he does have areas to improve, notably reducing mental errors, as evidenced by eight penalties last season.

With Lane Johnson nearing the twilight of his career, the Eagles are in search of a successor who can seamlessly step into his shoes, potentially as early as 2027. While they could explore options in the later rounds, securing depth on the offensive line remains a priority, especially after losing Brett Toth and Matt Pryor in free agency. Fortunately, they retained Fred Johnson, providing some continuity.

New offensive line coach Chris Kuper will be looking for a player he can mold from the outset, integrating them into offensive coordinator Sean Mannion's system. Iheanachor could benefit immensely from learning under Johnson, one of the game's premier right tackles.

While the Eagles have several positions to address, the offensive line stands out as a critical need. If Iheanachor is available at pick 23, he could be the answer to their long-term plans, anchoring the line for years to come.
