The Eagles may have found a real spark in Dontayvion Wicks, but that momentum hit a snag on Thursday.
Wicks, who has been one of the clearer bright spots in a Philadelphia offense that hasn’t exactly exploded out of the gate, was added to the Eagles injury report with a hamstring issue. Jeff McLane reported that Wicks was limited at practice and that the injury appeared to have happened on Thursday.
That’s a tough development for a receiver who has quickly become one of the team’s more productive options. Through four games this season, Wicks has 197 yards and is averaging 16.4 yards per catch, the top mark on the Eagles. His yardage total trails only DeVonta Smith, who is also dealing with injury uncertainty right now.
And that’s where this gets especially tricky for Philadelphia. Smith is already on the injury report, and Wicks now joins him there along with Marquise Brown. Their status for Sunday is still unclear, which leaves Sean Mannion and Nick Sirianni sorting through a receiving group that could look very different in the team’s overseas matchup.
If Wicks can’t go, it could open the door for more work for rookie Makai Lemon. It would also mean more opportunities for Darius Cooper, whose two touchdowns against the Los Angeles Rams stood out as one of the few positives from that game for the Eagles.
Philadelphia faces the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday morning at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London, with kickoff set for 9:30 a.m. EST.

Eagles Pass Game Gets A Huge Week 5 Test Against Jacksonville
The Eagles head into Week 5 with a passing game that still needs answers, and the timing of the matchup with Jacksonville could hardly be more important. Philadelphia may be without Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith, which only sharpens the focus on an offense that has already had trouble finding consistency through the air. The Jaguars, though, bring a defense that has struggled against the pass, giving the Eagles a clear opening if they can take advantage of it.
Sean Mannion and Jalen Hurts will be central to that effort as Philadelphia leans more heavily on the aerial side of the offense than it might like. Jacksonvilles run defense has been sturdy, so the Eagles may not have the luxury of easing into this one on the ground. For a team still searching for rhythm in the passing game, this looks like the kind of test that can either steady the offense or leave the same questions hanging into the next week. [Read more 🡒]
Eagles O-Line Identity Just Took An Emotional Hit Mailata Felt Deeply
The Eagles offensive line has been one of the clubs defining strengths in recent years, but the group looks a lot different now. With Jordan Mailata the lone remaining starter from last seasons front, the unit has taken an unmistakable hit in both experience and continuity, the kind of shift that can ripple beyond protection schemes and run-game timing.
Mailata made clear he felt the weight of losing two close teammates, even as he tried to keep the focus on the next game. For a position group built on chemistry and trust, the changes leave Philadelphia with a very different feel up front, and with a lot still to sort out before the Eagles can feel settled again. Eagles O-Line Suddenly Faces A Bigger Problem Than Fans Expected
Drew Kendalls knee injury has quietly become part of a much larger problem for the Eagles up front. After the departures of Lane Johnson and Cam Jurgens, Philadelphia was already trying to sort through some major changes along the offensive line, and Kendall missing a second straight practice only added to the uncertainty heading into the next game.
The ripple effect could be significant if Kendall cannot go, because the Eagles may be forced to piece together the interior with little regular-season experience. There were more injury concerns across the roster as well, with DeVonta Smith limited in practice and Saquon Barkley along with Jonathan Greenard sitting out, leaving Philadelphia with several key names to monitor before kickoff.
