The Eagles are making a notable early-season shakeup up front, and it starts with Cam Jurgens.
After Landon Dickerson’s struggles at left guard in Week 1 and his move to injured reserve a few days later, Philadelphia had a hole to fill on the interior of its offensive line. The answer, according to Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network, is to slide Jurgens from center to left guard and plug Drew Kendall in at center against the Titans.

It’s a big adjustment for a line that just handled Washington 24-22 in Week 1, and it arrives fast - Week 2 fast. The Titans present a tough test inside, with Jeffery Simmons and John Franklin-Myers lining up across from the Eagles’ reshuffled group.
Still, this move suggests Philadelphia believes Jurgens and Kendall can hold down those jobs. Jurgens had a rough season last year as the starting center, and his opening-game performance didn’t do much to quiet concerns. The upside is still there, but the Eagles may think that upside plays better at guard.
Kendall, meanwhile, comes with a good amount of preseason optimism, and that likely made him the safer choice at center over Willie Lampkin. Lampkin would have been the more adventurous option, but Kendall gives the Eagles a steadier path.
The bigger question now is what happens when Dickerson is healthy again. Does Jurgens slide back to center and Dickerson reclaim left guard? Or does Philadelphia keep Dickerson out if Jurgens settles in at guard and the line starts rolling?
For now, it’s a significant Week 2 shift, and one that could tell the Eagles plenty about the best version of their offensive line moving forward.
