Eagles Linked to Cardinals Coach Following Sean Mannions Quiet Staff Meeting

A familiar face from Sean Mannion's past could play a key role in shaping the Eagles' retooled offensive staff.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive coaching staff is in the midst of a quiet but significant shakeup, and it’s becoming clear that new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion is starting to put his stamp on the group. After meeting with the current offensive coaches, Mannion is reportedly eyeing some new additions-starting with the quarterbacks room.

Connor Senger, most recently the Arizona Cardinals’ pass game specialist, has interviewed for the Eagles’ quarterbacks coach job. That opening raised eyebrows, as many believed Scot Loeffler already held the position. But in classic NFL offseason fashion, the situation is more fluid than it appeared on the surface.

Now, another name has entered the conversation: Greg Olson.

According to NFL insider Mike Garafolo, Olson is a candidate to watch for the QB coach role in Philadelphia. And the connection makes sense.

Olson and Mannion go way back-Mannion was coached by Olson twice during his playing days, first with the Rams in 2017 and again with the Seahawks in 2023. That kind of familiarity and trust can go a long way when building out a staff, especially for a first-time offensive coordinator like Mannion.

Olson brings a wealth of experience to the table. He’s been an offensive coordinator six times since 2004 and has worked with a long list of quarterbacks across the league.

His coaching journey has taken him through multiple franchises, and he’s built a reputation as a respected voice in offensive meeting rooms. If Mannion is looking for a steady, veteran presence to help guide the quarterback development process in Philly, Olson checks a lot of boxes.

This all comes on the heels of a rough 2025 campaign for the Eagles’ offense. Under Kevin Patullo, who served as OC for just one season, the unit struggled mightily-finishing in the bottom half of the league across nearly every major offensive category. It was a step back for a team that had Super Bowl aspirations not long ago, and a change in direction felt inevitable.

What’s interesting here is the lack of official announcements. The Eagles haven’t confirmed any coaching changes publicly, but behind the scenes, it’s clear that Mannion is actively shaping the staff to fit his vision. Whether that means more interviews or additional hires remains to be seen, but don’t be surprised if more names start to surface in the coming days.

For now, all eyes are on the quarterbacks coach position-and whether it’ll be Senger, Olson, or perhaps someone else entirely who gets the nod. One thing’s for sure: Sean Mannion is getting to work, and the Eagles’ offensive rebuild is already underway.
