The NFL revealed its 2025 Pro Bowl rosters on Tuesday, and five Eagles earned the nod: rookie cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, linebacker Zack Baun, defensive tackle Jalen Carter, and center Cam Jurgens.
Mitchell and DeJean have been nothing short of revelations in their first year. The rookie duo has brought a jolt of energy to the Eagles' secondary, playing with the kind of poise and physicality that belies their age.
Mitchell’s ball skills and DeJean’s versatility have been game-changers, and Baun has quietly emerged as one of the more reliable linebackers in the NFC this season. All three have earned their spots with consistent, high-level play.
But then there’s Jalen Carter and Cam Jurgens - names that carry weight, but whose 2025 seasons haven’t quite lived up to Pro Bowl standards.
Let’s start with Jurgens. The Eagles’ offensive line, once the gold standard of the NFL, has been inconsistent this year, and Jurgens has struggled to find his footing.
Coming off offseason back surgery, he hasn’t looked like the same player. According to Pro Football Focus, he’s ranked 20th out of 40 qualifying centers - right in the middle of the pack.
His pass protection, in particular, has been an issue, and it’s shown in the offense’s uneven rhythm. It’s fair to say this wasn’t his best season, and his inclusion on the Pro Bowl roster feels more like a nod to name recognition than performance.
As for Carter, the talent is undeniable. When he’s at full strength, he’s one of the most disruptive interior defenders in the league - but this season has been a bit of a rollercoaster.
He’s dealt with injuries, including a recent shoulder procedure that’s kept him out of the last three games, and his conditioning has been a question at times. In 10 games, Carter has posted 32 tackles and two sacks - solid, but not spectacular.
Meanwhile, Jordan Davis has been the engine of the Eagles’ defensive front. With 65 tackles and 4.5 sacks through 16 weeks, he’s been more productive, more available, and arguably more impactful than Carter this year. If we’re talking about who deserved the Pro Bowl nod based on 2025 performance, Davis has a strong case.
And he’s not the only Eagle who could’ve been on that list. Nakobe Dean has taken a step forward this season, showing improved instincts and leadership in the middle of the defense.
On offense, A.J. Brown continues to produce like a top-tier receiver, Saquon Barkley has been a steady force in the run game, and Dallas Goedert remains one of the more complete tight ends in football - a reliable blocker and pass-catcher who’s often overlooked.
Pro Bowl selections always spark debate, and this year is no different for Philadelphia. While the rookie standouts and Baun earned their honors on merit, others got in on reputation - and a few deserving names were left on the outside looking in.
