The Philadelphia Eagles are sending five players to the 2026 Pro Bowl Games, and if you’ve been following this team closely, the names shouldn’t come as much of a surprise-especially on the defensive side of the ball. With the offense still trying to find its rhythm for much of the season, it’s been the defense that’s carried the load, and that’s reflected in the Pro Bowl selections.
Jalen Carter Leads the Way
Headlining the group is defensive tackle Jalen Carter, who not only earned a spot but was named a starter. That’s a big-time nod for a player who continues to anchor the Eagles’ defensive front with power, explosiveness, and a knack for disrupting plays before they even get going. Carter’s been a difference-maker all season, and this latest honor just reinforces his status as one of the league’s premier interior defenders.
Joining Carter on the NFC roster are linebacker Zack Baun, defensive back Cooper DeJean, cornerback Quinyon Mitchell, and center Cam Jurgens. Four of the five Eagles selections come from the defensive side of the ball, which tracks with how the team has won games this year-by getting stops, forcing turnovers, and controlling the line of scrimmage.
Rookies Making Noise
It’s a particularly special moment for DeJean and Mitchell. Both were drafted in 2024, and now, just two seasons into their NFL careers, they’re Pro Bowlers. That’s not just a sign of individual talent-it’s also a strong endorsement of how quickly they’ve adapted to the pro game and how much trust the Eagles have placed in them.
DeJean has been a versatile weapon in the secondary, capable of playing multiple roles and making plays all over the field. Mitchell, meanwhile, has stepped into a starting cornerback role and held his own against some of the league’s top receivers. For both players, this Pro Bowl nod is likely the first of many.
Cam Jurgens: Holding It Down in the Trenches
On the offensive side, the lone representative is center Cam Jurgens. While the Eagles’ offense hasn’t always clicked this season, Jurgens has been a steady force in the middle of the line.
His ability to call protections, handle interior pressure, and open up running lanes has been a key part of whatever success the offense has had. It’s not flashy, but it’s the kind of work that gets noticed by coaches, players, and fans alike-enough to earn him a second straight Pro Bowl selection.
Alternates Still in the Mix
Beyond the five official selections, the Eagles also have several players listed as alternates-guys who could still get the call if others drop out. Linebacker Jaelan Phillips is a second alternate, while running back Saquon Barkley and tight end Dallas Goedert are third alternates. Special teamer Kelee Ringo is a fourth alternate, and quarterback Jalen Hurts rounds out the list as a fifth alternate.
It’s worth noting that Hurts, a former MVP candidate, has seen his production dip this year, but he’s still viewed as one of the top quarterbacks in the NFC when he’s on. If a few dominoes fall, we could still see him in San Francisco for the Pro Bowl Games.
Pro Bowl Games: A New Era
And just as a reminder-this isn’t your old-school Pro Bowl. A few years ago, the NFL revamped the format, ditching the traditional full-contact game in favor of a series of skills competitions and a flag football finale. It’s now branded as the “Pro Bowl Games,” and it’s become more about showcasing talent and personality than grinding through another physical game.
This year’s Pro Bowl Games will take place on Tuesday, February 3, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco-just days before the Super Bowl kicks off in the same city on February 8.
So while the Eagles’ season has had its share of ups and downs, the Pro Bowl selections are a clear sign that the team’s talent-especially on defense-is among the best in the league. And for young stars like Carter, DeJean, and Mitchell, this feels like just the beginning.
