The Eagles may not be sitting near the top of the betting board, but Daniel Jeremiah is still ready to ride with them all the way to the finish line.
The ESPN and NFL Network analyst picked Philadelphia to win Super Bowl LXI on ESPN’s “This Is Football” podcast, pointing to a roster he believes stacks up with anyone in the league when it comes to depth.
“For me, I can be convinced that they are on-par with the Rams, just in terms of the overall depth,” Jeremiah said. “I don’t think anyone has talked much about Philly at all in this run-up. They’ve kind of gotten lost, which is rare for them.
“I think they’re well-situated. I mean, I won’t get ahead of myself on predictions. But just know that I am very, very high on the Philadelphia Eagles.”
Host Kevin Clark then pushed him a step further: “It sounds like you want to pick them to win the NFC.”
“I did,” Jeremiah said. “I picked them to win the Super Bowl.”
Jeremiah spent time breaking down the names on the roster, including Quinyon Mitchell, Zack Baun, Cooper DeJean and Jalen Carter. His point was simple: players who would be bigger headline acts on other teams can get overlooked when they’re all grouped together in Philadelphia.
He also singled out the Eagles’ depth up front.
“Look at their backup defensive tackles, by the way,” Jeremiah added. “You think about how hard it is to find quality defensive tackles, and college is not giving us as many as they have in the past.
“They’ve got depth and waves of guys. I think with Seattle, that’s what benefitted them in their run to the Super Bowl last year.
It’s not just the Alpha group. It’s the Bravo group, too, having that depth to run through.”
Still, the market doesn’t view Philadelphia the way Jeremiah does. The Eagles are tied with the Broncos for the 10th-best Super Bowl odds at +1800 on FanDuel. In the NFC, they trail the Rams at +500, the Seahawks at +1100 and the 49ers at +1700.
Philadelphia opens its 2026 season Sunday against the Commanders, with a shot at getting back to the Super Bowl and bringing home a third Lombardi Trophy.
