The Seattle Seahawks are entering the stretch before the trade deadline with work to do, and the offense is the part that needs the clearest lift. After Thursday night’s 3-3 setback against the Denver Broncos, the defending Super Bowl champions sit second in the NFC West, but they’re still a long way behind the 6-0 San Francisco 49ers.
That leaves little margin for error with the Kansas City Chiefs and Chicago Bears up next. If Seattle wants to start stacking wins, its offense has to sharpen up.
Seahawks On SI’s Michael Hanich has pointed to tighter involvement for A.J. Barner as one path forward, but the bigger swing could come from outside the building.
One name to watch is Dallas Goedert. Matt Verderame of SI described the Eagles tight end as a fit for Seattle, even while noting he’s not the same player he used to be. That decline, though, might work in the Seahawks’ favor if they’re looking for a veteran help piece without paying a premium price.
“Rumors have suggested the Eagles might move off Goedert as he’s aged and dealt with injuries, missing at least three games in four of the past five years. Yet, Goedert has held on, and now might be the time for Philadelphia to cut ties.
Goedert is 31 years old and hasn’t had 600 yards since the 2022 season,” Verderame wrote. “He won’t bring a premium, but Goedert is a useful player with a ton of postseason experience.”
Goedert would give Seattle a big target at 6-foot-5 and 256 pounds, along with nine years of experience. He already has 17 catches for 180 yards and two touchdowns this season, which means he has more receptions, yards and touchdown catches than anyone on the Seahawks roster other than Jaxon Smith-Njigba, despite doing it in just four games on a struggling offense.
If Philadelphia decides to sell, Seattle might also have another target in the same deal window. Verderame mentioned guard Landon Dickerson as another Seahawk fit, and the idea makes sense if the Eagles are open for business with Jalen Hurts potentially out for the season. Dickerson would strengthen right guard and could help Sam Darnold feel more settled in the pocket.
Seattle doesn’t have to chase just one kind of help, either. A lineman, a running back or another pass-catcher would all make sense. But with the schedule tightening and the division race not waiting around, the Seahawks need to come away from the deadline with something real.

Eagles Fans Suddenly Have Real Reason To Watch Shane Steichen
The Colts decision to fire general manager Chris Ballard after a sluggish start has inevitably put Shane Steichen back in the spotlight, and for Eagles fans, it is a familiar one. Steichen spent two seasons as Philadelphias offensive coordinator in 2021-22, when the offense grew into one of the leagues most dangerous units, and he has spent the last four years trying to steady things in Indianapolis as head coach.
Steichens overall record there sits at 27-30, and with the Colts now resetting in the front office, his future is suddenly a talking point again. If Indianapolis eventually makes a bigger change, Philadelphia would be a natural place to wonder about a reunion, especially with the Eagles still searching for answers on offense and the old connection to Steichen never far from the surface. Eagles Week 7 Showdown Could Change Who Survives This Collapse
The Eagles season has already veered into survival mode, and the next stretch figures to tell a lot about who, if anyone, gets to keep their footing once the losses stop piling up. At 2-4 and in the middle of a four-game skid, Philadelphia has seen the margin for error shrink fast, with a number of familiar faces suddenly under the microscope as the frustration around the roster and coaching staff keeps growing.
Saquon Barkley, Landon Dickerson, Offensive Coordinator Sean Mannion and Head Coach Nick Sirianni are all part of the conversation now, because a collapsing season tends to turn every week into a referendum. Week 7 looms as the kind of checkpoint that can change the tone around the building, and for some in the organization, it may also change how long their jobs are safe. [Read more 🡒]
Cowboys Suddenly Have A Real Opening In The NFC East
The NFC East has spent the last couple of weeks looking anything but sturdy, with all four teams hitting the kind of rough patch that makes every divisional game feel bigger than usual. The latest reminder came in the form of a tie between Washington and New York, a result that only added to the sense that nobody in this group is seizing control. Dallas, sitting at 2-4, has at least kept itself in the mix, and the standings have left the Cowboys with a real path to move up if things break their way.
Philadelphia enters the matchup dealing with a major setback at quarterback, which only sharpens the stakes for a Cowboys team trying to take advantage of the moment. The Giants are technically on top for now, but their own issues are piling up, including the loss of Jaxson Dart and a tough date with the Texans ahead. In a division this messy, even one good night can shift the picture quickly, and Dallas suddenly has a chance to make the most of it. [Read more 🡒]
