There's some promising news for Eagles fans regarding Dallas Goedert. At the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Howie Roseman shared plans to meet with Goedert's agent, as the Eagles explore options to retain the veteran tight end.
Goedert is about to hit free agency again after playing last season on a one-year, $10 million deal. His value has likely risen after an impressive 2026 season, where he stayed mostly healthy, missing just one game. This is a significant improvement from previous years, where injuries kept him sidelined for extended periods.
Both Goedert and the Eagles are eager for him to stay in Philadelphia. With no other established tight ends under contract, reaching a mutual agreement is crucial. Roseman praised Goedert, calling him a "tremendous player and person" for the team, emphasizing his importance to the Eagles' offense.
In his eighth season with the Eagles, Goedert caught 60 passes for 591 yards and led all NFL tight ends with 13 touchdowns, including two in the playoffs. Since joining the league in 2018, his stats are impressive: 409 catches, 4,676 yards, and 35 touchdowns, ranking him among the top tight ends in the NFL.
His postseason performance is equally noteworthy, with 56 catches-the most in Eagles history-and 595 yards, second only to DeVonta Smith. Goedert's five postseason touchdowns are just one shy of Harold Carmichael's franchise record.
As free agency looms, Goedert joins Jaelan Phillips, Reed Blankenship, and Nakobe Dean as key Eagles players potentially on the move. Roseman acknowledged the complexity of the situation, expressing appreciation for Goedert's contributions and indicating upcoming discussions with his agent.
Goedert is one of the few remaining players from the 2018 team, alongside Lane Johnson, Jordan Mailata, Jake Elliott, and Brandon Graham. Head coach Nick Sirianni praised Goedert’s ability to create mismatches and contribute both in the passing and running game, highlighting his skills in yards-after-catch situations and blocking.
Currently, Goedert ranks 15th in average annual salary among NFL tight ends, 10th in catches, and 14th in yards. As the Eagles work to piece together their roster puzzle, retaining Goedert could be a pivotal move for the team's future success.
