Eagles Fans Know How Good This Offense Could Look At Its Best

Unpack the Philadelphia Eagles' inconsistent 2025 season by delving into three underestimated offensive showcases that reveal flashes of potential amidst the struggle.

The Eagles’ 2025 offense was frustrating more often than not, but there were still a few nights when it looked like everything was finally coming together. Those stretches deserve a closer look, because they showed what Philadelphia could be when the passing game found its rhythm and the whole operation started humming.

The clearest breakthrough came in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams, a 33-26 Eagles win that was about more than Jordan Davis’ block-and-return touchdown on the decisive field goal attempt. Philadelphia had opened the season with two games in which the passing attack never produced a forward touchdown, and by the third quarter it was staring at a 26-7 hole.

Then Jalen Hurts flipped the script. He threw three touchdown passes, including a 33-yard strike to Dallas Goedert, a nine-yard dot to A.J.

Brown, and a four-yard scoring pass to DeVonta Smith. That burst suggested the offense might be ready to take off, even if the rest of the season would prove that idea came and went.

Week 7 at Minnesota was another strong showing, and this one felt even more complete. Coming off back-to-back losses to the Broncos and Giants, with the offense managing only one second-half touchdown across those games, the Eagles answered on the road with touchdowns in every quarter of a 28-22 win over the Vikings.

Hurts was locked in from the start, finishing 19 of 23 for 326 yards and three touchdowns with a perfect 158.3 QB rating. Smith delivered one of the biggest plays of the day, hauling in a 79-yard touchdown on a beautifully thrown ball, while Brown came through with a key 45-yard catch on a late third-and-long to help close it out.

Smith’s final line - nine catches for 183 yards - marked his second 100-yard game in three outings and hinted at a shift at receiver.

The last of the standout performances came in December against the Raiders, when Philadelphia finally got a chance to let out some of the frustration that had built during a three-game losing streak. The offense was balanced from the opening snap to the finish, with Saquon Barkley carrying 22 times for 78 yards and a touchdown, and Hurts going 12-for-15 for 175 yards and three scores in a shutout win.

Even then, the larger issues around the unit never really disappeared. The fanbase kept pushing for offensive changes, questions around Brown kept hanging around, and Nick Sirianni spoke about his team’s toughness after the losing streak ended.

But the bigger truth remained the same: in 2025, Philadelphia’s offense had its moments, just not nearly enough of them.

Former NFL Scout Takes Stunning Shot At Eagles Defensive Standout

A former NFL scout has put Cooper DeJean in the crosshairs, and the criticism lands at a time when the Eagles are still sorting out what their secondary will look like heading into 2026. Daniel Kelly took to social media to question DeJeans value, adding another layer to a cornerback room that has already seen plenty of movement and debate since the team moved on from Darius Slay and rotated several options at the outside spot last season.

Philadelphias back end now has a new name in the mix with Riq Woolen on the roster for 2026, and some around the league think he could be a better fit than expected. With the Eagles set to open the season Sept. 13 against Washington, the bigger question is whether the teams defensive puzzle pieces will settle into place quickly enough, or whether the conversation around DeJean and the rest of the secondary is only getting started. Eagles Just Got New Proof They Were Right To Move On

The Eagles decision to move on from A.J. Brown is looking a lot better in hindsight, and the case for it got another boost from the way DeVonta Smith has stepped into the top role. Smith finished 2025 as Philadelphias leading receiver, and the gap between the two was so small it only sharpened the argument that the offense could keep humming without Brown carrying the load.

Browns numbers and overall impact have been under the microscope ever since the trade, especially as his play dipped and questions grew around his separation, drops and fit in the offense. For the Eagles, the bigger picture now includes both the draft capital they picked up and Smiths rise into a true No. 1, which is why this deal keeps trending toward the kind of move front offices hope looks smart years later. Eagles Fans Got Pulled Into Another Howie Dream That May Be Dead

The Brian Thomas Jr. buzz gave Eagles fans another brief jolt of Howie Roseman dream-chasing, but the reality around any possible Philadelphia-Jacksonville deal looks a lot less dramatic than the speculation suggested. Thomas has already built real chemistry with Trevor Lawrence, which is the kind of connection teams do not casually break up, and the Eagles have also been busy reshaping their receiver room with additions that make another big swing feel less urgent.

From Philadelphias side, the fit is easy to imagine because Thomas has already shown the kind of upside that turns trade chatter into a full-blown internet event. He was a Pro Bowl receiver after a huge 2024 season, then dealt with an injury-hit follow-up that slowed him down, which is exactly the sort of profile that invites debate about value and availability. Even so, the Eagles have other roster priorities, and this one already has the feel of a rumor that may have run farther than the actual market ever did. [Read more 🡒]
