PHILADELPHIA - The Eagles spent Day 10 of training camp leaning into the run game, mixing in plenty of pistol looks and under-center snaps during an hour-and-45-minute “green” practice that also included a live field-goal period and the usual 1-on-1 battles.
The offense’s biggest splash came in team work, when Jalen Hurts found Elijah Moore on a long-developing route against Andre’ Sam in single coverage and ripped a 47-yard touchdown. Hurts also connected with Dontayvion Wicks on a strong sideline throw.
Even with the passing highlights, the session belonged mostly to the ground game. Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley all looked productive, though it was hard to measure much with no tackling to the ground. The first-team rushing attack also finished a four-minute period with just two Barkley carries and enough to move the chains.
The defense had its moments, too. Jalyx Hunt kept showing up around Hurts, Cooper DeJean came through on an inside blitz, and Quinyon Mitchell snagged another interception in 7-on-7 work before leaving team drills with a ding.
Trainers worked on Mitchell, and he put his helmet back on in an effort to return, but he did not rejoin the session. With Jonathan Jones already out, Mac McWilliams stepped in for Mitchell’s first-team reps.
Jake Elliott opened the day with a field-goal period, and the wind gave him trouble early as he pushed two attempts left. Once the kicks went live, he settled in and made all six tries from 32, 37, 40, 44, 46 and 50 yards.
The Eagles also tried a pooch punt from Elliott, and Braden Mann nearly downed it near the goal line before it slipped into the end zone for a touchdown. Long snapper Rocco Underwood looked more consistent on field-goal snaps.
The run of one-on-one work gave the linebackers a chance to shine in pass protection drills against the backs, and Jihaad Campbell and Smael Mondon made life miserable. Campbell worked around Bigsby easily, while Mondon had Carson Steele overmatched on two reps with his speed. Zack Baun beat Barkley on an outside move, Deontae Lawson used an inside move to get by Ja’Quinden Jackson, and Barkley’s best answer came when he handled Mondon on the final chance.
The bracket drill had its own edge. Baun toyed with Britain Covey from the back of the bracket before finishing the play after the swipe from the underneath defender. Covey answered on a later rep by slipping past Baun untouched with his short-area burst.
The pass-rush 1-on-1s brought a different kind of competition. Moro Ojomo opened with a win over Drew Kendall by beating him with speed.
Jordan Mailata stopped Hunt in his tracks, while Jose Ramirez used technique and effort to get past John Ojukwu. Ty Robinson, who has been better lately, beat Jake Majors on two reps.
Willie Lampkin had to hold on twice against Ojomo. Markel Bell kept Josh Weru under control, Tarron Jackson flashed with a spin move that left Cam Williams behind, and Jackson also got the better of Ojukwu.
Uar Bernard is still developing and was handled by Michael Jordan, while Zion Wilson burst past Kendall before the interior backup answered on a second rep.
Jonathan Greenard remains on the Active/PUP list with a strained pec and does not appear close to coming back. Vic Fangio said Greenard, who was again watching closely, will be out at least another couple of weeks.
Lampkin, after leaving Monday’s practice early, was back as a full participant Tuesday and worked at both center and guard.
The list of players who did not practice included Danny Gray, Keyshawn James-Newby, Jonathan Jones, Makai Lemon, Dameon Pierce, DeVonta Smith, Johnny Wilson and Cole Wisniewski. Chance Campbell and Covey remained limited.
The team periods started with a backed-up drill, and the Eagles lined up in 12 personnel with Dallas Goedert and Johnny Mundt at tight end. Dontayvion Wicks and Hollywood Brown were the receivers, with Moore sliding in as the slot on third down. Barkley helped push the offense forward with a few strong runs, but the defense answered when Byron Young burst through for a safety of Andy Dalton.
Tanner McKee later moved the threes along by finding Erik Ezukanma on 3rd-and-2 after Shipley helped set up the down and distance.
On kick returns, Bigsby, Cooper, Covey, Moore and Brandon Hayes got the work Tuesday, while Shipley was not in that group.
A few more defensive plays stood out as well. Jakorian Bennett broke up a pass intended for Moore, Robinson logged a sack, and on offense Eli Stowers made an early catch while Goedert used his body to shield Baun for a reception over the middle.

Quinyon Mitchell Injury Suddenly Puts Eagles Cornerback Depth In Focus
A midweek practice scare briefly shifted attention to one of the Eagles most important young defenders, as Quinyon Mitchell left drills and did not return. The injury did not appear serious, but it was enough to interrupt the look Philadelphia got on the field and put the secondarys depth under the microscope for the rest of the session.
Mac McWilliams stepped in with the first-team defense in Mitchells place, a reminder that the Eagles are leaning on a cornerback group that is still sorting itself out. Behind Mitchell, the options include Jakorian Bennett, Jonathan Jones, Kelee Ringo and Tariq Castro-Fields, a mix that gives Philadelphia bodies but not a lot of certainty if the team has to stretch that depth further. Eagles Camp Is Creating A Real WR3 Debate Behind The Stars
Training camp has a way of turning a depth-chart afterthought into a real talking point, and thats where the Eagles find themselves with their receiver group. With DeVonta Smith and Makai Lemon slowed by injuries, Darius Cooper has had more chances to work and has made the most of them, stacking up catches and looking noticeably sharper than he did a year ago. In a room built around stars, those extra reps matter, especially when the staff is trying to sort out who can reliably handle a larger role.
Marquise Brown was brought in to be part of the answer, but the early camp work has made this more interesting than a simple veteran-vs.-young-player competition. Cooper has shown encouraging timing with Jalen Hurts, and the more he keeps doing it in camp, the harder it is to ignore him in the conversation for the Eagles next receiver behind the top options. The question now is whether Brown can close that gap before the preseason picture starts to settle. [Read more 🡒]
Eagles Already Face One Big Concern With Their New Pass Rusher
Jonathan Greenards first summer with Philadelphia has already taken an uneasy turn. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said the new pass rusher is expected to miss all of training camp because of a lingering pectoral injury, and Greenard has been on the Physically Unable to Perform list while staying involved in meetings and other off-field work.
The concern now is not just the injury itself, but the time Greenard is losing at a point when newcomers usually need every rep they can get. Fangio made clear the missed camp work matters for readiness, and the Eagles will have to wait and see how quickly Greenard can get back into physical drills once he is cleared. [Read more 🡒]
