The Eagles will have Andrew Mukuba on the field Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, despite the knee issue that had followed him through the week.
Philadelphia released its inactive list 90 minutes before kickoff, and Mukuba was not on it. The full group sitting out for the game: Tanner McKee, QB3; Cole Payton, QB; Elijah Moore, WR; Jonathan Greenard, EDGE; and Micah Morris, OG.
Mukuba’s availability matters because he opened the 2026 season with a solid showing in the 24-22 win over the Washington Commanders. He gave up one catch, posted a passer rating of 91.7 against him, and finished with one tackle in the victory.
The advanced numbers were respectable, too. Pro Football Focus tagged Mukuba with an overall grade of 63.7, which ranked 30th out of 72 eligible safeties. His coverage grade came in at 60.9, good for 32nd, and his run-defense grade was 65.4, placing him 35th.
To cover for the uncertainty around Mukuba, the Eagles elevated rookie Maximus Pulley from the practice squad to the active roster. The move adds depth at safety and another special teams option, and it will be Pulley’s NFL debut after he went undrafted.
With Mukuba active, Philadelphia can keep its Week 1 safety setup intact, using Mukuba and Marcus Epps rather than turning to Michael Carter II in the starting role. Cooper DeJean will continue to see snaps at safety when the Eagles are in base defense.
The defense is still dealing with a few moving parts. Mukuba and DeJean are both on the injury list, Jalen Carter is playing through a wrist injury, and Jonathan Greenard is out with a pectoral injury.
That leaves Philadelphia with some questions to sort through even after a strong start against Washington. The offense is still working to get settled, which puts more pressure on the defense to hold up against Tennessee and manage the injuries while trying to keep the momentum going.
