Dak Prescott’s Monday night performance against the Eagles left Cowboys fans with two competing thoughts: the box score looked good, but the early misses raised eyebrows.
Dallas rolled to a 38-21 win in Philadelphia, and Prescott finished with 212 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. Even so, some of his throws early in the game looked off enough to spark fresh concern about whether the injuries he’s dealt with this season were still affecting him.
Jerry Jones wasn’t buying that theory Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan. The Cowboys owner said Prescott’s accuracy wasn’t an issue and stressed that the quarterback kept battling while still landing the throws that mattered most.
Prescott has been through two injury scares already this season. In Week 4 against the Houston Texans, someone stepped on his hand, leaving him with a cut that needed a wrap.
Afterward, he played it down: “It’s nothing. It just got stepped on,” Prescott said after the game.
Then came Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers, when he took a hard hit from Zaire Franklin and seemed to feel it in his ribs. Prescott admitted he was hurting, but he wasn’t interested in leaving the field.
“I took a good hit. A hit to the ribs, got the wind knocked out of me.
But I wasn’t coming out of the game. It was, just give me a second and we can get back going,” Prescott said.
Jones said he doesn’t think those issues explain the missed throws against Philadelphia. “I wouldn’t think there is enough that he is banged up to get into being off on his throws,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan.
“I just, when I look at how other quarterbacks play, when I look at how they throw the ball, Dak is unique in his way, but I can’t say enough about what he meant to stay in there and the throws that he did make. We just have got to realize, they (the defensive players) have something to do with it, too.”
The Cowboys owner also liked how Prescott handled the game plan, especially the way he worked through his reads and got the ball out fast to help the pass protection.
“He’s got to sit there and not only get it to the right one depending on how the defense is playing, but he has got to get it out of there and help his protection. He did that last night,” Jones said. “I don’t have any criticism about where he went with the ball or where he threw the ball.”
Dallas is now 3-4 and heads into a softer stretch with a chance to build some momentum. The Cowboys are back in action Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, and Prescott won’t have much time to rest before the next test.

Eagles Trade Deadline Reality Just Got Hard To Ignore
Five straight losses have pushed the Eagles into an uncomfortable spot at the NFL trade deadline, where the conversation has shifted from adding help to potentially moving pieces out. With the season sliding and future draft capital suddenly carrying more weight, league chatter has started to circle around several names on the roster, especially players whose contracts make them easier to deal before the deadline passes.
Moro Ojomo has drawn the most attention among the expiring-contract options, while the broader list of possible trade candidates also includes Riq Woolen, Dallas Goedert and Kelee Ringo. Hollywood Brown is in the mix, too, after being a healthy scratch against the Panthers and then popping up in reporting as a player who could be on the move soon, which only adds to the sense that the Eagles are bracing for a deadline that could look a lot different than the one they planned for a few weeks ago. Nick Foles Just Turned Up The Heat On Eagles Culture
Former Eagles quarterback Nick Foles added a fresh layer to an already uncomfortable stretch in Philadelphia, questioning the state of the teams culture after the club dropped its fifth straight game. His comments pointed to a broader concern about how the locker room has changed since the departure of former offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, a name that carried real weight during the most stable years of the franchises recent run.
Nick Sirianni pushed back in his response, choosing not to get pulled into the noise around the losing streak. He said his focus remains on the relationships inside the building, with the Eagles trying to keep their attention where it belongs while outside criticism continues to pile up. [Read more 🡒]
Eagles Offense Suddenly Faces A Bigger Problem Before Commanders Game
A week that already felt precarious for the Eagles took another turn on Wednesday, when six players were missing from practice ahead of a pivotal NFC East meeting with the Washington Commanders. The timing could hardly be worse for a team trying to steady itself after a five-game losing streak, especially with the offense already forced to adapt without its starting quarterback.
Philadelphia has been managing life without Jalen Hurts, and now the injury report has added more uncertainty around two of the pieces the offense leans on most. Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith were both sidelined from Wednesdays session, leaving the Eagles with even more to sort through as they try to keep pace in a division game that already carried plenty of weight.
