Skip Bayless did not sound like a Cowboys believer when he reacted to Dallas being installed as a 4.5-point road favorite for Monday Night Football against the Eagles.
On a show with Stephen A. Smith, Bayless said he was stunned by the number and made it clear he doesn’t trust what he’s seeing from his team right now.
“We're like baying at the moon, you know, we don't have an offense or a defense,” Bayless said. “I don't know, Stephen A. They're four and a half point favorites going to Philadelphia… and I don't know how they're favorites because the truth is, my gut feeling is Philly will just figure out how to win that game even without Jalen Hurts.”

Dallas arrives at the matchup with a 2-4 record and plenty of issues on both sides of the ball. Dak Prescott has still put up volume, averaging over 270 passing yards per game, but the production hasn’t translated into enough wins. He has thrown 10 touchdowns and five interceptions, while the Cowboys’ defense has struggled badly on critical third downs.
Philadelphia, meanwhile, has continued to find ways to win at home. Even without Jalen Hurts, who is out with an injury, Nick Sirianni has leaned on the run game and defensive takeaways to keep the Eagles in control of games.
For someone who usually talks up Dallas no matter what, Bayless sounded unusually down about where the Cowboys stand. The betting line may point to confidence in the road team, but Bayless isn’t buying it, and he expects Philadelphia to come through again on Monday night.

Makai Lemon Suddenly Faces A Huge Eagles Test Against Dallas
The Eagles offense could look a lot different when they line up for Monday night against the Cowboys, and rookie Makai Lemon may be right in the middle of it. With DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks and Dallas Goedert all missing practice because of injuries, Philadelphia is already dealing with some uncertainty at key spots, while Lemon has quietly been on the field for a significant chunk of the season and now looks poised for an even bigger workload.
Lemons expanded role comes at an awkward time for an offense trying to adjust around Tanner McKee, who is set to start with Jalen Hurts dealing with health issues. Still, the rookie has sounded confident about where he is in his development, even as the challenge gets tougher in a divisional game that could ask a lot more of him than the Eagles originally planned. Eagles Still Have One Big Jalyx Hunt Question Before Dallas
Jalyx Hunts return remains one of the more important Eagles health questions heading into the Cowboys game, especially after the scare at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium left him with a knee and ankle injury. He missed the Panthers game, then got back to practice the following week, which at least gave Philadelphia some hope that the issue is trending in the right direction.
Even so, Hunt is still not sure whether he will suit up against Dallas, and his own standard for coming back is clear enough. He has stressed that he wants to be medically ready before returning to the field, which leaves the Eagles waiting a little longer to see whether one of their young defenders can make it back in time for a rivalry game that could use as much depth as possible. Eagles Face A Big Tight End Decision Howie Roseman Can't Dodge
The Eagles are already being viewed through a 2026 trade-deadline lens, and the expectation is that Howie Roseman will be weighing moves as a seller more than a buyer if the season keeps trending the way it has. That is where the tight end spot gets interesting, because it is one of the areas on the roster where the long-term picture is still unsettled and the front office will have to decide whether to keep developing what it has or get aggressive in a different direction.
Eli Stowers adds to that uncertainty, since his NFL career has yet to get off the ground after landing on injured reserve before Week 1. If Philadelphia does look outside the building, the market could push Roseman toward a player like Sam LaPorta, but any real pursuit would have to fit into a broader rebuilding plan that could involve moving veterans and protecting future draft capital rather than spending it freely.
