The Dallas Cowboys recently hosted Josiah Trotter, son of former Philadelphia Eagles star linebacker Jeremiah Trotter, as they gear up for the NFL Draft. Josiah, who showcased his talents at Missouri, worked out for the Cowboys and shared the experience on Instagram.
Jeremiah Trotter, a formidable presence in his time, had three stints with the Eagles, earning four Pro Bowl appearances, All-Pro honors in 2000, and a spot in the Eagles Hall of Fame. His NFL career spanned from 1998 to 2009, with impressive stats including 914 tackles, 12.5 sacks, and nine interceptions.
Josiah Trotter is making waves as a potential first-round pick, having visited the Cowboys as part of their top-30 draft prospects. Dallas holds the 12th and 20th picks in the upcoming draft in Pittsburgh.
Trotter has been on the Cowboys' radar since the NFL Combine in February, where he also met with teams like the Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, and Indianapolis Colts. His college career began at West Virginia, where a knee injury in 2023 led to a redshirt season. In 2024, he bounced back with 93 tackles and earned Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year and All-American honors.
Transferring to Missouri in 2025, Trotter continued to impress with 84 tackles and two sacks, earning first-team All-SEC recognition.
Drafting Trotter could add an intriguing twist to the Cowboys-Eagles rivalry, as his brother, Jeremiah Jr., currently plays linebacker for the Eagles. For Dallas, Trotter would bolster a linebacker corps in need of depth after losing DeMarvion Overshown to injury and parting ways with Kenneth Murray and Logan Wilson.
