Brandon Graham Stuns With Bold Take on Eagles Next Offensive Coordinator

As the Eagles search for a new offensive coordinator, franchise veteran Brandon Graham stresses the need for seasoned leadership to steady a team in flux.

Brandon Graham knows a thing or two about big moments. He authored one of the most iconic plays in Super Bowl history - the strip sack that helped seal the Eagles' first Lombardi Trophy.

And more than a decade after being a surprise first-round pick in 2010 - a pick the Eagles made instead of taking Earl Thomas - Graham has cemented his legacy as one of the franchise’s all-time greats. No one has suited up for more games in midnight green.

His smile is as infectious as ever, and his bull rush still packs a punch.

But while Graham’s place in Eagles lore is secure, the team around him is shifting. After a season that saw them fall short of expectations just a year removed from another Super Bowl appearance, the Eagles are in a state of transition.

Kevin Patullo is out as offensive coordinator, and the search to replace him has been anything but smooth. The role remains unfilled - and the longer it stays vacant, the more it feels like a job no one wants.

That said, the Eagles will name a new offensive coordinator. It might not be their first choice.

It might not be flashy. But someone will take the reins.

And whoever it is will walk into a locker room that needs more than just a playbook - it needs leadership.

Graham, never shy about speaking his mind, addressed the situation on a recent episode of his show, Brandon Graham Unblocked. And when he talks, people listen. Not just because of who he is, but because of how well he understands what this team needs.

"In this situation... I feel like you got to have one that's experienced," Graham said.

"Like what someone said about a Vic Fangio - I think Seth [Joyner] said that. Like [a] Vic Fangio type of guy coming in because you really need to have that command."

He’s not necessarily suggesting Fangio himself - who’s known more for his defensive chops - but rather invoking the type of presence Fangio represents: a seasoned, respected veteran with instant credibility in the locker room.

And that’s the key word here: credibility.

This isn’t about hiring someone for nostalgia’s sake or bringing in a coach who’s just looking for one last stop before retirement. It’s about finding someone who can command the room from Day 1.

Someone who can reset the tone after a season where frustration - particularly among star players like A.J. Brown - bubbled to the surface.

"You got to get everyone believing in it," Graham continued. "I think a veteran person or someone that guys respect in the league will give everybody a chance to have belief - to get a reenergized feeling about it."

That’s the challenge now for the Eagles' front office. While the league trends younger - always chasing the next McVay or Shanahan - Philadelphia may need to zag where others zig.

The hotshot 30-something with a creative playbook might not be what this locker room needs most. This team isn’t rebuilding.

It’s retooling. And that requires someone who can stabilize the ship, not just draw up the next big thing.

The urgency is real. Top candidates are coming off the board. And the longer the search drags on, the more pressure builds to get this hire right.

Brandon Graham isn’t campaigning for a specific name. He’s calling for a presence - a coach with the experience, respect, and leadership to bring belief back to a locker room that lost some of it last year.

The Eagles don’t need the flashiest hire. They need the right one.
