Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni stirred up some buzz at the NFL Scouting Combine with his candid remarks about wide receiver A.J. Brown’s future with the team. When asked if Brown would be with the Eagles for the 2026 season, Sirianni's response was less than definitive.
During an appearance on "The Rich Eisen Show," Sirianni addressed the situation head-on, sharing his genuine affection for Brown both on and off the field.
"It's funny how these questions come up," Sirianni noted. "All I can say is, I love A.J.
Brown. He’s a phenomenal teammate and an outstanding player.
I’m truly grateful for the relationship I have with him."
Brown recently sparked chatter by joking about a potential move to the New England Patriots, where his former coach Mike Vrabel is now at the helm. Although Brown later clarified he was just having some fun, it added fuel to the speculation about his future.
Eagles GM Howie Roseman also weighed in, indicating he would be open to listening to trade offers for Brown. Given Brown's past frustrations with his role in the offense, the comments from both Roseman and Sirianni suggest that a trade isn’t entirely off the table.
Despite previous tensions, including a heated exchange during a playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Sirianni emphasized the positive nature of his daily interactions with Brown.
"I love the talent and the person that A.J. is," Sirianni continued. "He’s delivered in big moments and big seasons. There’s always outside speculation, but what matters is focusing on what we can control-our daily interactions-and those have been positive."
While acknowledging some "ups and downs," Sirianni gave no hint that the team is eager to part ways with Brown, who signed a lucrative three-year contract extension in 2024. The future may be uncertain, but for now, Sirianni’s commitment to Brown remains steadfast.
